A5/S5/RS5 Audi A5 Sportback (Spy pics & info)

So what's wrong with it?

The design is as predictable as my next 1kg pack of sugar. It looks like an Audi A4 with a slightly slanted roof which officially makes it the most boring four door coupe to date.

This is true. The A7 looks more like a sportback/4 door coupé though

So let me get this straight... people here who seem to like A5 and think it is worlds apart from an A4 think A5 Sportback looks like an A4? Granted, the difference between the two might not be as great as E class / CLS, but is in the same manner as 3er coupe vs 3er sedan. In pictures you might not spot that big a difference (except minus 2 doors), but the details are much more accomplished on the 3er coupe.

you dont really have a case here because evidently there are no similarities between the e90 sedan and the e92 coupe.

This is like BMW using the 3er coupe and add 2 extra doors to it, what you end up with is something very similar to the 3er sedan, the key is the overall profile of the car. The profile of the A5 sportsback is now more similar to the A4 than the A5 coupe. The side window height doesn't look particularly lowered when compare to the A4 as well.

No matter what we think about the A5 sportback it's the public acceptance and sales that will make it a success or a failure.

For example the A4 which has been accused as boring by many of our members is a best seller in Europe beating easily 3 series and C class in Germany and many other countries.

im not really sure about this, il just wait and judge when the official pictures are revealed! just thinking about it makes me feel bad! i hope it comes out clean and sleek

Luw's chop is not so bad, but the car is way too much like an A4, and the wavy shoulder line looks absolutely horrible on this 4 door.

Black does the trick and the car will end up very very attractive in S5 form. Funny Phaeton/Renault camo. IMO that fake window line is gorgeous and makes the car look less like a sportback.
