Hmm..why are people comparing the M3 to the S5 (I know it's an A5 in the pic you posted)?
The M3 is NOT a S5 competitor. It's the 335i.

In the american market they are the closest.

My post was just menat to show the opposite to when a S5 is compared to a non M-sport E92.

If someone doesn't think the S-line makes a huge deal on the A5 I think I have to disagree. The A5 is a quite common sight here in central Stockholm and the standard car just is just not at all as beautiful as the S-line version. the lines are somehow disrupted. The same goes for the E92. This time of year it is even more obvious since many people drive around on 16" wheels... a big nono on both cars.

In real life the non S-line is not as beautiful as it could have been, or maybe should have been.

So, there we have to go for a picture like:

An M-pack 335 is more suited than a stock 335i. :)

Well, if we talk about packages, I bet Audi will blow us all away with the RS5 :)

It's something thats way way way better, something others doesnt even come close to. Its light years ahead so to speak, that is superior to me. It's a strong word to use IMO.

Oh well, nothing worth continue arguing about. Let's focus on E92 vs A5.

well, in english, superior simply means better. :t-cheers:

That will be out of this world, as long as Audi don't let the same guys desing it as those who did the RS6. I don't know, some might like that mundane "2.4 quattro" styling... I don't.

what word shall I use when something is way way way better than anything else? is there such word at all.

There is nothing in the word superior that points at how much better one is than the other. If you want to say that something is way better use far superior.

May be but i wasn't talking about whose package was better but pointing that if it's fair to say that S5 is the competitor of the 335i, then you should consider an m-packed 335i to do a comparaison based on look.

have you been in or driven the new Audi A4? Personally I drove the car a couple of weeks ago.
Interior quality is no difference between A4 and a 3-series. Actually the new A4 gone worse than previous A4. Its obvious Audi have started to get cheap with their interior materials.
The reality is that the three germans ,mb,audi, bmw have become much closer and are equally good. Neither of them have something that is superior to another. That is the truth and something people should face.

This is one of the few times I have to agree with JM. He has a good point here! I believe what he means to say is the gap is closing and closing pretty quickly in all directions, (interior quality, driving dynamics, the list goes on and on) Sure the Germans makers have their "superior" qualitys and always will but even I wouldn`t say one is superior in quality or whatever to another. Thay just excell in different areas. (it`s like you have 3 students in a classroom MB, Audi and BMW, none of these guys are perfect but if their overall grades are about equal on a test sheet that shows marked improvements for all three.
Even though thay have their own personall talents and innovative ideas which thay excell at. Those personal talents don`t make one superior to another.

Superiority is quit a big word to me.. to be superior one must excell in every area above all others in a scientific test. No German car maker can claim that status.

Much of this is due to the fact that superior is also used to describe differences in rank, like in your example the teacher is superior to his or her students (but more common the Captain is superior to his private). I agree that there is not that much between the three these days but they still have distinct charateristics. All closing in on each other but they are still far from alike.

Federer is a superior tennis player than Nadal

Yes he is better, but not like Tiger Woods vs other golf players. Tiger Woods is FAR superior than other golf players.

Also, do you guys think that the S5 is more exclusive due to price and production, we are giving it a nod? The 335i is quite common.

The 335 is quite a car. I have to admit that I am yet to driven the S5 or sat in it, however the 335i with an M-kit is adorable, and I find it more appealing than the S5.
So here is my match up:

E92 335 vs A5: choice is E92.
E92 335 w/M-kit vs S5: choice is E92.

Do I sound biased???...:D:D

I voted A5, and not just because I've been an Audi enthusiast for some years. For me the E92 is a very attractive design, and that's something I can't say about the rest of the current BMW line up (some of which range from slightly odd-looking to downright ghastly). I think the front looks stunning (especially in M-Sport guise) but when the car is viewed in profile or at an angle from the rear something isn't right and it doesn't quite work as a cohesive and harmonious whole. I think this is due in part to that annoying 'kink' in the window line near the C pillar which BMW insist on using in all their designs, the one where it goes back on itself. I think this looks dated now and spoils the overall look of the E92.

The A5/S5 represents quite a leap in exterior (and interior) design and IMO this is where Audi continues to distance itself from the competition. BMW will need to rethink their Bangle design disas- sorry, direction, if they are to achieve similar levels of cohesiveness IMO.

Yeah man..I'm not a fan of the new RS6 looks either...

This is what i like about the A/S5 series...

Just look at the this picture. The S5 is a beautiful car and they should never make the lesser ones...

Ok, here my take on the thing.

S5 < 335i

E92 > A5

In the end Audi killed it with the S5, it's not just a good looking car, it is beautiful especially in black. A piece of art. The 335i still looks fantastic with it's silver coloured mesh in the lower part of the front bumper.
