It slaughters both C and 3er in interior department!:bowdown:

re: Audi A4 (B8) Picture Thread

Personally I rate the interior in 3-series above the competition but in the rear department A4 kills both E90 and C-class :D

re: Audi A4 (B8) Picture Thread

Well, i put Audi in the 1st place as far as the interior is concerned. Both 3er and C could learn few lessons in that department.;)

Nah, I'm not with you on this one, Tyc... to my mind the interiors of the A4, A5 and A6, whilst beautifully built, don't match their respective BMW competitor's dashboards for distinctiveness, modernism and sportiness.

It's really fantastic to see how BMW with this minimalistic approach has created those marvelous interior design. See E60 and E90 even without the I-drive screen...

I think that Audi's interiors are better built but very uninspiring...

BMW interiors remind me of the starship enterprise. And I hate the star trek :eusa_doh:

or could it be that you hate the propeller? I dont know but you seem to have a grudge against the whiteblue logo ;) :D

re: Audi A4 (B8) Picture Thread

which one - Enterprise A, B , C, D or E ? :D
Personally, I don't think the Enterprise design has moved on enough through the generations. It always seems to be an evolutionary rehash of the same old theme. Star Trek needs to get their act together - if they continue going down this road then we'll be sure to see consumers flocking to Imperial Star Destroyers (their interiors are just sooo much better) and Galactica models (not as modern inside but eminently functional and robust - with a full complement of Vipers too).

I guess this is off-topic and far removed from the A4, but I tend to agree. I still think that the E looked like a natural progression (more modernized) than the A. However B and E have been just poor replicas. C (shown only in 1 episode I think) just looked sad and out of context.

Loved the old Galactica and still do...

re: Audi A4 (B8) Picture Thread

I have issues with the unity of new A4's interior. There's not the kind of "open clarity" you find in a 3er.

On the other hand - the styling is awesome! All these complex, rounded shapes make me think of something straight out of the Star Wars universe, and the trim pieces look great. On balance - I give Audi the edge on the interior. It's a cabin that would make me feel like a bad-ass every time I fired-up the engine. Now if they could only arrange their control scheme in a more intuitive fashion it would be a grand slam, out of the park.

On the downside - this car, like every other German car, has this knob-control-thing going on, which I'm just blah about ever since I went car shopping and dug into MMI and iDrive. Same goes for COMMAND. It's my personal belief that, eventually, the Navis of the future will be coupled with a touchscreen that augments the main display screen and makes input easy. Entering an address with a knob is like trying to type with a mouse. It stinks.

So the Germans are going to take a page from Lexus?:eusa_thin

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
