PRESS RELEASE:

ASTON MARTIN ANNOUNCES RAPIDE PRICING

Gaydon, Warwickshire 4 November 2009. As the eagerly awaited Aston Martin Rapide four-door sports car goes through final engineering and testing phases before being launched in quarter one 2010, Aston Martin confirms UK pricing.

The price of the Rapide will start from £139,950 in the UK which features an impressive level of standard specification including: Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio system tailored specifically for Rapide, heated memory seats, dual cast brakes and Adaptive Damping System.

The Rapide is Aston Martin's first production four-door sports car encapsulating the practicality of a car with extra doors and fusing it with the trademark sports car dynamics synonymous with modern Aston Martins.

Customer deliveries will commence at the beginning of quarter two 2010, and it will be the first sports car to be hand-built at the Aston Martin Rapide Plant in Graz, Austria. The new 17,000 m2 building has been designed to reflect the quality levels established in Gaydon since 2003 permitting the fusion of modern technology, advanced manufacturing processes and hand-built craftsmanship. Each Rapide will take approximately 220 man hours to build and will benefit from timeless craft skills just like the existing range; DBS, DB9, V12 and V8 Vantage do at Gaydon.

It is anticipated that +/- 2000 Rapides will be built in the first year attracting a high proportion of new customers to the brand. Core to this trend is the mix of huge attention to detail throughout the car, ample accommodation for up to four adults and the spacious boot (317 litres with seats up, and 886 litres with seats down) while maintaining Rapide's elegant beauty and sports car profile.

The Rapide is on sale now available to order from the Aston Martin dealership network around the world.

This seems consistent with expectations, but to put it in perspective in terms of the range, this fits almost exactly between the DBS and DB9.

£165,000 DBS Coupe
£139,950 Rapide
£116,000 DB9 Coupe
£87,000 V8 Vantage Coupe

£135,000? That's monkey money. Heartbreakingly expensive but with that juicy price tag comes exclusivty that the German saloons do not offer.

No reason why not! If some day I've some spare cash left to use anywhere! A true head-turner that thing is! :usa7uh:

2010 Aston Martin Rapide Priced From $199,950 In U.S.

You know all about the 2010 Aston Martin Rapide, you've read about its official debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, you know it has a revised version of the DB9's sweet/vicious 6.0-liter V-12 engine. You even know it's rated at 470 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. But today Aston Martin has revealed its one remaining secret: its U.S. pricing.

The price for the Rapide will start at $199,950. That's a pretty steep price for a car that's ostensibly competitive with the likes of the Porsche Panamera in terms of capacity and performance, though Aston Martins typically cost considerably more. The Panamera starts at about $89,800 for the S model and can range up to $132,600 for the Turbo.

There's no denying that the Rapide is the more attractive of the two, so that style alone may be worth part of the price premium. Still, the fact stands that in order to get your hands on one of these fantastically styled and capable sedans, you'll have to offer up a chunk of cash that'd buy you a nice suburban home in middle America.

For the money, Rapide buyers will get an impressive level of standard specification including: Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio system, heated memory seats, dual cast brakes and Adaptive Damping System.

Thankfully, Aston Martin's official photography shows the super-sedan in almost every way imaginable, inside and out--the only things missing to our tech-obsessed minds are undercarriage and engine bay shots--offering a chance to see where each and every one of those dollars goes.

Customer deliveries will commence in spring 2010, and it will be the first Aston Martin model to be built outside of the UK, with production taking place in Graz, Austria.
