Apple's 4th-generation iPhone revealed

for all you paris-time fella's out there, 07.00PM is the time today. Apple has apparantly filled out a patent with solar cells built into the screen, invisible but there. If that's the case, damned them to hell ... cause I think I can't NOT have that in my life :D

yeah, but ya see, than an hour later an update to an app like cookies home tab 1.8 arrives for sense 2.5 on the HTC devices and I remember how much I ADORE the tweaking and personalizing of my HD2 to bloody perfection. Seriously, I haven't loved any of my iPhones as much as my HD2.

Anyone following the live coverage of the WWDC ? the iPhone is revealed, its the same that Gizmodo showed few months ago.
- Stainless steal body
- Glass back/front
- New "Retina" display ..
and more as I type ..

Update:
10:45 am "You can't make an OLED display with this kind of resolution right now."
10:44 am 326 ppi. 800:1 contrast ratio also 4x better than 3GS. Uses IPS technology for superb color and wide viewing angle.
10:44 am 3.5" display, same size, 960x640.

10:50 am Gyro + accelerometer = 6 axis motion sensing.
10:50 am 3 axis gyro for pitch roll and yaw.
10:50 am iPhone 4 has a Gyroscope.

5 Mega Pixel camera.
10:56 am 720p at 30fps.
10:56 am Camera records HD video!

Looks great!

The gyro is a really unexpected addition. The ability to record in 720p is outstanding... Guess I won't be needing a Flip afterall.

Wow it has a video camera on the front lol that is just so four years back and it only works from iphone 4 to another,***?

Seriously guys i don't what's the fuss? yeah it's nice with some new stuff but certainly there's much better smartphones out there.

^enlighten me in what way??..cause im in the market for a new phone

Typical Apple in my opinion. Class leading looks, lacking in real substance. I think I'll wait for the Windows Phone 7 mobiles before I decide what to do with my 3GS.

Nothing really groundbreaking here. 720P recording, 5 megapixel camera (with flash? Really?) and video chat are all useless features for me. Merely attention-grabbing figures to lure smartphone-geeks from other platforms, but with no substance behind it.

However, my iPhone 3G contract is nearly up and the high-resolution display, 900MHz radio, A4 processor, better battery life and thinner body is enough to push me over the line and commit myself to another 2 year contract with the iPhone 4. Looking forward to the release.

That's some amazing updates by Apple but I fear that the iPhone is reaching it's peak. There are only so many features you can cram into a phone and multi-tasking is certainly not optimal on a phone.

Still I'm very impressed and have for the recent minutes been rubbing my hands in anticipation of how mind boggling the iPad will be when it gets all these software and hardware updates. As a device with a larger screen and keyboard input, it has much more potential than the iPhone -- specially with multi-tasking. I can see multi-tasking working the same way on the iPad as on a Mac: A four finger swipe gives overview of all apps running.

The iPad now looks dated and it's pretty obvious that it will get the same design refresh in January, gyroscope and most certainly the camera which will blow minds on such a huge display. It will kill skype usage on the computer. I warned people before about not bying the iPad now and that it will be much much better in it's 2.0 iteration. Early adopters will feel remorse. Just imagine how sexy it will look in black piano finish with accented edges. Not to mention getting a retina display making it even more crips. The iPad 2.0 will be one hell of a device. I can't wait.
