Apple's 4th-generation iPhone revealed

On a side note because I don't want to start a new thread... if you use an iPhone 3G (i dunno about 3GS and 4), I would strongly recommend not updating to iOS4.

Initially I was experiencing sporadic slowdowns, but as time goes on, they are getting more frequent. I'm also experiencing significant periods (up to 5 seconds or so) were the touch screen becomes unresponsive. I am rebooting the phone at least once a week at this point.

You're right. Just like iOS 3 kinda slowed down the 3G a little, it's the same with the 3GS and iOS 4.

Used iOS 4 for a couple of weeks on my 3GS and I didn't like it. It just didn't feel right. It ate all the ram and it would slow down to a crawl. Always had to kill the running apps manually. I got fed up and sold the damn thing :D.

On the iPhone 4, it feels right at home, the new processor and the double memory has something to do with it.

Seems Apple are drawing some ire from the industry after Herr Turtleneck Fuhrer half-ass "accepted" responsibility for the Antennagate by pointing out everyone else makes bad antennas.

Latest news on Antennagate:

Official from Apple... no possible software fix.

Only fix so far: choice of cases

What a losers, apple tried to drag RIM,HTC and Nokia into this antenna debacle claiming that BB Bold 9700,HTC droid eris and some Nokia phone suffers the same!!

HTC did indeed have a minor antenna problem but nothing like the iPhone4. In fact HTC replied by posting their tech support data showing that Apple already has had about 10x more (in percentage per sold phone) calls regarding antenna issues then for the Eris.

Yeah but it's not like HTC Eris needs a case like iphone does.IMO this is lame from apple trying to drag others in it's own mud.

humm ... so Tarek BMW & Apple are on top of your "top hated brands list" :D

Seriously guys, this is taken far far away .. the phone works and this is just blown away waaay too much and someone need to burst the bubble.

apple fanboys need to realize this phone is crap, cause it can't place calls depending on how you hold it. And jobs needs to resign and let a less arrogant prick run the company.

Lol..u know i like BMW..not all models though:D

Seriously now Jobs needs to confess that apple isn't the best when designing high end mobile phone instead of making excuses, giving away free cases and dragging other respectable manufacturers into this.

I don't see what the big hoo-hah is all about. I'm sure 98% of it is just media hype, as it usually is. It shouldn't put anyone off buying an iPhone either - at the very least you can try it, see if the 'issue' affects you and if it does, return it. Seeing as the return rate of the iPhone 4 is much less than the 3GS, obviously people aren't as affected by it as the media and technology blogs state.

All I know is that I'm going to be in line to buy an iPhone 4 when it comes out in Australia on July 30th. Considering I'll be signing up with one of the best 3G networks in the world, I doubt there will be an issue. If there is, I'll return it. Simple as that.

I don't get this it's not a big deal stuff. It is a phone, not a laptop. It's designed for phone calls and the rest is an added bonus of the technology age. Killing calls with one misplaced finger is a big problem for a phone if you ask me.

Exactly. It's a damn phone. If it can't make a frakin call, then wt-f are people supposed to do with it?

This is precisely why I hate apple and don't buy their crap unless it's absolutely necessary. It's not that they don't make good products, they do, it's the fact that they overcharge an ass load and then have a pompous attidude about it it. Apple is like the RIAA of the computer industry. Even if you bought their crap, you still can't DO anything to it because Jobs will have a fit and his army of num-nut fanboys is gonna make sure you hear about how it's not "cool". :D

Indeed. Thousands of people have already upgraded to the iPhone 4G and the majority of people I've seen with one has dressed it in a case.

I use it without a case and drive test (thats what they call reception level test in mobile networks :D) everyday, not a single drop till now. I don't care what others say but it is working.

It has alot to do with the crappy AT&T network paired with the antenna problem..
Folks in germany arent having any probs..
Neither are the ones who jailbraked it and use it on verizon in the US..

And ppl say that Sweden with its good net wont have any probs either..

Its just a mix of a few bad things that **** it up..

But to be honest it should have been better hardware wise from apples side, given the premium they want for their products..

Im gonna buy one when it gets here..if it doesent drop any calls im happy..if it does its going back where it came from..
