I've got a trojan problem. Spybot seems powerless. The stuff I am finding on CNet seems terribly ineffective. I need some suggestions. :t-cheers:

And it has to be free if possible!

I use Malwarebytes, this program can also be found on CNET.
It's quite popular on CNET, maybe you already tried it out or maybe not.
Some time ago I also had a persistent trojan on my computer, tried alot of common anti virus and malware programs but none of them were able to detect and come up with good results. Eventually Malwarebytes was able to remove the trojan.
It's free and in my opinion works better than some programmes with big names like Norton, Adware, Spy doctor etc.
Here's their website: Malwarebytes.org
Give it a try if you haven't, good luck!:usa7uh:

Thanks. :t-cheers:

Maybe I should take the time to warn you guys but I got an email this morning from a friend, but when I opened it was empty and all of a sudden my computer security systems go beserk and warn me of a Trojan problem.

The people who create these things should be whipped, tortured and beaten blue in public IMO.

I know it's a lame-ass sounding website, but the guys at Geeks to Go! Tech experts answer your questions helped me invaluably when I had a problem. Sign up, go to their 'Virus, Spyware and Trojan Removal' section, follow the pre-posting instructions then create a new thread.

They provide a pretty exceptional, entirely free service. Check it out if you have continuing problems.

You guys are awesome. Many thanks. :t-cheers:

Malwarebytes completely cleaned out all the Trojans (thanks Alwing!), but I bookmarked those sites you guys gave me just in case I ever get attacked again. :usa7uh:

Also reccomend spybot, been for the last couple years and it works like a charm.

I have Spybot and I am usually satisfied with it but it didn't work yesterday when I was trying to eradicate these Trojans. Spybot said my computer was "clean" when it really was infested with Trojans. :(

Take Alwing's advice and download that program. It works and it is free. All the other stuff pretends to clean your system and then when you click "Remove threats" you're forced to get an activation code by buying the product. FAIL.

I am currently running AVG but it's not running smoothly so I shall give the one Alwing suggested:usa7uh::usa7uh:
