Another Chinese blatant copy of a German design

As the old saying goes, Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

So there you have it - The SMA Hysoul (Hayshang):

It's an odd attempt of a saloon (sedan) version of the old the Citroen ZX with a a cheap knock-off of Audi's [SIZE=-1]one-piece single-frame grille.

P.S: Europe never ever had a Sedan version of the Citroen ZX. The ZX Sedan was designed by Citroen exclusively for the Chinese market, where still is sold under the name of Dongfeng Fukang. The entire SMA range is based on the license-built old Citroen models by China's Dongfeng.

Re: Another Chinese blatant copy of a German design.

I do feel sorry for those people living in China, most of them haven't seen any decent cars in their entire life, so this genetically multated Audi A4 is probably the best thing they have ever seen or owned.

Re: Another Chinese blatant copy of a German design.

^not really as if they have money they can get a MB,audi or BMW..
audi are huge in china..
and if they hang around the big citys im sure they can see some real nice cars..
but you are right..most of them cant own the nice cars..
as in most poor countrys around the world

Re: Another Chinese blatant copy of a German design.

Well, you posted it in the appropriate section: THE GARBAGE BIN! :eusa_danc

The grille also looks ripped from Audi. :eusa_thin

Re: Another Chinese blatant copy of a German design.

HA HA HA....that is so funny!! Wow, those designers in China suck!!!

Re: Another Chinese blatant copy of a German design.

BTW, look at those panel gaps! :eek2:

It's amazing how these poorly made Chinese cars can sell in Singapore. I thought they would fail terribly but to date they've captured most of the market who prefer to drive than to walk or take public transport. If you ask me, walking or public transport is better, and safer too!

Re: Another Chinese blatant copy of a German design.

LMAO this is hilarious.

But I bet it will only be a matter of 15-20 years when the Chinese manufacturers will be a force to reckon with. As the Koreans learnt quicker than the Japanese, the Chinese will learn quicker than the Koreans.

I agree with that. :usa7uh:

WOW! These things are sold Singapore? :eek2:

They must be dirt cheap though, right? And those panel gaps mean one thing: extremely poor build quality. They hint at the production standards of these cars: backyard factory so to say. :t-banghea

The Geelys are sold in Singapore, which are just as bad.

Geely CK-1. *cough* W220 *cough*

There's also the Chery QQ:

Contrary to popular belief, the Chery QQ is actually just a little cheaper than a better-built Kia Picanto. With this in mind I don't see the logic of people buying Chinese cars. Panel gaps are abhorrent and it goes from 0-100 in the region of 20 seconds and above. They become a road hazard especially on steep roads which may have these cars crawling up at dangerously low speeds.

Re: Another Chinese blatant copy of a German design.

The Citroen DNA is obvious.:D

BTW Yannis, I was getting into an argument with some Lexus fanboys in Autolies who you know are obsessed with panel gaps and how it represents "build quality".

I showed them this picture. :D

Panel gaps mean nothing really, except here with the Chinese cars, you know they're shitboxes. :D

Re: Another Chinese blatant copy of a German design.

Oh my god! Just look at those chinese copies!:eek2: There must be tons of lawsuits in China about car design copyrights.

Re: Another Chinese blatant copy of a German design.

Wow rev8000... Thanks for sharing those pictures. It's just mind-boggling how many cars they copy!

Dark grey plastic , silver shiny plastic and wood panels in that color dont match. Someone should tell that to Japanese engineers. :D

I also noticed that the door doesn't have the mechanism to open step by step (i don't know how exactly it is called). Even VW Polo has that...:eusa_doh:
