I'm using Go Launcher X, though the clock is a separate app. On the right of the clock is an invisible widget that when you tap it turns the phone off (Invisible Lock Screen Widget).
I haven't ventured to try the Nova Launcher, but from everything I've read its pretty similar to Go Launcher, so I'll stick with it.

The only lag I have is turning the screen on and immediately typing the password in. I have to wait for .5 seconds or it will miss my first digit of my pw.

I'm guessing you don't use the fingerprint thingy to unlock the phone? Do you find it to be more of a gimmick?

Yes, plus it's been proven to be easily bypassed. The her at rate monitor is cool though and I use it more than I thought.

Just a little update after owning the phone for 1.5 months. First thing, I am massively impressed by the battery life of the M8, I only need to recharge it once every 2.5 to 3 days which is incredible.
I am also impressed by the smoothness and the speed of the UI, there is no lag at all. The display has great outdoor visibility, the audio output is very powerful and clear. The camera takes great photos but only if you don't zoom into the details. Overall it does everything I wanted it to do fantastically well and I will highly recommend others to give the HTC M8 a look before making their decision.

Thanks! Life happened my friend. Switching jobs, paying my student loans back after graduating, etc. Now things are getting more settled. Never forgot about you guys for a second. Many of you guys are like long distance family. Haha

I am genuinely happy that people are purchasing the M8 and that HTC has finally managed to turn around and spin a profit. I just hope they keep learning from the feedback and criticisms and hopefully make an even better successor.
I also hope that other Android vendors are taking note. Build a phone with HQ hardware, turn down the software skinning/bloatware and the market will respond favorably.

Oh yeah. I bought that phone a few days after it came out. I truly love this phone. I really got bored of Samsung's Apple like laziness. I had the S4 before this. Choice was S5 or M8....wasn't even a contest.

Just referring to your reply on the other thread, I have the Spigen ultra crystal on my M8 and it shows off the brush aluminium back very nicely, you should look into getting one too.

I have a Spigen case as well. It said it was going to be "ultra thin" but not really. Lol. Either way though, it's a beautiful case too.
I have been genuinely happy with my Sony z2, but I was waiting for it to be complete with wireless charging. I ordered the wrc12 charger cover and now Sony announces that the item is not coming and the whole wireless charging thing disappeared from Sony pages... What is going on, did Sony just think no one would notice? Wtf
Now this became even more interesting, I just contacted Sony global mobile support and they said they have no info on this matter and when I asked for an email from someone who could answer me, the chat was closed and he told me to have a nice day. Again, Wtf!!!???
