SL-Class (R129) An R129 SL has appeared in my garage!

The Mercedes-Benz R129 was introduced in 1989 as a two-passenger convertible with a removable hardtop — the first Mercedes-Benz to feature a fully automatic, hydraulically operated fabric convertible top. Produced from 1989 to 2002.

And to think I had the SL of my dreams all this time sitting right in my foyer. She is about 20 years old now, I've had this little SL forever. Notice the time worn details.

Damn…you fooled me too!! Thought you got a new car without saying anything before it arrived…already saw the photos of a R129 Final Edition in my mind… :eusa_pray

Great little model though, with a real classic colour… :eusa_clap

I had the very same model as a kid, only in dark grey (BTW, did YOU choose the color?). Loved it.

I played a lot with it, did some upgrade to make it drive better (removed bits of platic from inside the front wheelarchs so that it could turn and drive)... and ultimately it lost a wheel, then another...:D

Definitely not as solid as the 1:1 car!

Oh no - just notice a minute ago, that the side mirror on the driver side was gone during the photoshoot.

Yep...you have a good eye. Would you believe the little transmission went out during the photoshoot and the car rolled off the hood of the CLK onto the floor, thus shattering the driver's side rear view mirror. :D
