Holy crap! The Audi just blows the BMW away in performance! It's like you're comparing two cars from different classes to each other.

Check this out:

0-100 km/h
Audi: 5.9 seconds
BMW: 7.3 seconds

But in terms of fuel economy the BMW motor is more efficient.

1st Place: Audi A6 Avant 3.0 TFSI Quattro (500/650)
The new 6-cylinder Kompressor engine is powerful, refined and a pleasure to drive. It also works well with the 6-speed automatic. The handling and comfort are also impressive. A clear victory for the Audi.

2nd Place: BMW 530i Touring (494/650)
The BMW engine is refined and also powerful as well as very efficient. The relatively low torque figure causes the automatic transmission to respond with nervous and undecisive shift patterns. The hard suspension means the BMW is a car for clients who want something ultra sporty.

The facelift has worked a treat for the A6, but I'm not to sure about the LEDs:eusa_doh: As for the new engines, they are very good:)

the 0-100 numbers do not make much sense
the A6 has a relative power hike over the 5 but the 5 is also lower in weight, something is off here

D'uh! Supercharged engine vs NA one.
The difference in torque output is 100Nm!!!! 320Nm (5er) vs 420Nm (A6).
Therefore the difference in performance. I guess AWD also helps in this cold weather. ;)

Of course the Audi is quicker 18hp and 100nm more than the BMW. It's almost like comparing 335i to C350.

BMW fans can be proud that the BMW is more fuel efficient and both cars scored 14 points in "interior quality" :D

Do they mention anything about the A6:s clearly more comfort oriented ride compared to the Bimmer's? In Swedish AMS they love the comfort, soft (unsporty) ride of the A6 and I guess the German AMS is of the same opinion.

They do in the main article. They praise the A6 for good handling and good comfort. Naturally they mention that the BMW is the sportier ride and would handle better if pressed to the limit. In the end the A6 wins because of the more balanced overall package despite needing a little more fuel. Quattro is also useful (I guess since they compared these two cars during the winter season).
