:t-cheers:

In my opinion it's something about 10.000 €...give me a minute...;)

...

edit: 12.376 €

The package adds:

Raises power output to 381 hp. Includes modified cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, ECU, additional radiator (only for manual transmission), carbon fiber air-cleaner housing, aluminium-intake system and sports exhaust system with pair of dual-tube tailpipes in individual design in chrome-plated stainless steel. Note: also in conjunction with Tiptronic S.

What's really interesting for me is the acceleration and flexibility of the 'Kit'.
Comparing to the Sport Auto Supertested, 415 hp 997 GT3 RS

Carrera S Kit (GT3 RS)

-381 hp (415 hp)
-1478 kg (1424 kg)
-300 km/h (310 km/h)
-0-100 km/h: 4,4 s (4,3 s)
-0-160 km/h: 9,8 s (9,2 s )
-0-200 km/h: 15,0 s (14,0 s)
-80-120 km/h in 5th/6th: 6,0 s/8,1 s (6,6 s/8,1 s):D

I think the power kit is a good deal but I wish Porsche would somewhat make it standard just to make the 911 of a better value.

Hi,

(just joined the forum - my first post...)

What is the source for this data - how reliable it is?

Thanks,

Sam

Hi,

(just joined the forum - my first post...)

What is the source for this data - how reliable it is?

The source is AMS (Auto Motor und Sport) - It is a german car magazine and the data is reliable!! :usa7uh:

You can find a lot of scans out of the AMS on this forum... :t-cheers:...they are normally mark with "[scans] AMS: ..." or only "AMS" - like DeDe does with this thread...

...and, before I'll forget it: WELCOME to germancarforum!!

Thanks! :)

What caught my attention was this (comparison of std Carrera S vs Performance kit):

-0-100 kph: 4,4 s (4,7 s)

With only +26hp and +15Nm and no weight saving this sounds almost too good to be true...

Could the original 4,7 s (as well as the 4,3s figure for GT3) be a conservative manufacturer number and 4,4s measured by AMS?

Ps. I just drove a C4S last weekend...an awesome car, even with a tiptronic!

All those numbers are measured numbers. Both tests are done by AMS. Maybe they've tested the Kit version in colder weather, when the cooling of the engine is better. We don't know. ;) For example, Quattoruote did 4,5 s with the normal, 355hp-Carrera S

IMO it's not worth it over standard Carrera S much money for little more power!

But with this little more power it can go around the Hockenheimring as fast as the 997 Turbo (1.13,7 min) for example :D

I must agree with this. Originally I was not sure if the kit was worth it, but with the figures posted here...well, it suddenly starts to make sense;)

"The 4.7 0-100kph time seems really conservative to me, thats slower than the factory listed time for a standard Carrera S. Though the driving conditions and what not may have affected the performance. The Power Kit in the US costs $16,900 and some change, not exactly a bargain for less than 30 hp gain and some odd torque. Trust me, the Carrera S is already fast enough without the extra 30 hp.

I checked the RUF USA website, and you can get a 80-100 hp/30lb/ft Torque gain for about $27,000 to put things into perspective. I think that Porsche should just make the 381 hp figure standard instead of charging such a premium on a small power gain."

I posted this in the other Carrera S thread...haha...spam.
