Not necessarily entirely new models, but rather variants.

Volkswagen has introduced an assortment of new Allstar editions in Germany.

Designed to promote the 2016 UEFA European Championship football tournament, the special editions are based on the Polo, Golf, Golf Sportsvan, Golf Variant, Golf Cabriolet, Jetta, Beetle, Beetle Cabriolet, Scirocco, and Sharan.

Exterior styling changes are limited but the special editions will come equipped with fog lights, Linas-style alloy wheels, and Allstar badging on the B-pillars.

Moving into the cabin, buyers will find "Allstar" branded door sill plates and a Climatronic climate control system. The special editions also have a winter package that includes heated front seats, heated windshield washer nozzles, and a headlight cleaning system. Customers will also be able to purchase an Allstar Plus package that provides additional content but the company declined to elaborate.

The special editions will come with a five-year warranty and Volkswagen says the cars provide up to €3,900 of saving over traditional models with the same equipment.

In order to promote the special editions, Volkswagen has enlisted a number of professional football players to appear in ads for the cars. They include Thomas Müller, Julian Draxler, Max Kruse, André Schürrle and Maximilian Arnold.
