Apparently this was from a German car newspaper, so the writeup is in there somewhere and this comparison was done well into the past of last year.

Things with big fat tires are at a big disadvantage on snow/wet condition.

Nice pics of all the AWD gubbins though... It's interesting to see the differences between the Haldex couplings in the Saab and Tiguan. As I recall the Saab Aero's XWD rear differential has a left-to-right torque biasing system whereas on the Tiguan it's just an open rear diff...

Looks like highly random tests !

I have seen two other snow tests:
- the Auto Bild Sports Car, where the Porsche 911 Turbo dominates outrageously.
- The Auto Motor und Sport, where the fastest car is the Audi S4 3.0 TFSI Quattro, much better than the Mitsubishi Evo (which is among the slowest on the course) and the worst is... the 911 Turbo.
Didn't read all the details, but I have a feeling that there is a large part of random in those tests...

As far as I'm concerned when it comes to this kind of evaluation, there are too many variables to arrive at an objective and furthermore, repeatable, result.
