USA sales clarification:

[Update: Despite being labeled as “Mercedes-Benz Cars sales” in the international release, the US figure of 81,100 units is said to be total group sales. This implies it includes the 70,000 car and 8,500 van retail sales as well as an additional 2,600 fleet sales.]

A total mess.

The BMW iX3 Is Outselling the X3 In Europe

By October 2025, the iX3 was already outselling the X3 in Germany. Fast forward to April 2026, and that statement now applies to the entire continent. Even BMW is surprised by the strong order intake for its Neue Klasse SUV. It’s important to note that only the iX3 50 xDrive is currently available to order, with a cheaper iX3 40 arriving in Europe this summer. The upcoming base model is priced at €63,400 in Germany.

The correct Mercedes figure is 408,300, not 419,400. The latter figure includes the manipulated value of 81,100 sales in the USA (which included commercial vehicles), a figure Mercedes has already refuted, clarifying that the actual number is 70,000 (cars).

When the official information provided by a brand is incorrect or manipulated, as in this case, it leads to the media misinforming the public.

Wow VW are in serious trouble with their EV models in China and US. Only 13400 vehicles over 3 months between both countries!!! That is shocking!! VW BEV cars has a massive 32K reduction in sales compared to 2025!!

In the US at least this is partially a reflection of the market... EV sales for the quarter are their lowest for nearly 4 years, and I suspect a lot of buyers bought before the subsidies were cancelled (that Q3 spike last year).

After seeing the facelift of the 7er,EQS,S-Class q4 I can conclude that we’re entering the next phase of deteriorating quality, each generation becomes worse and worse, from all 3 premium car companies.

While the prices goes up.

No wonder people want Restomods.

Unless you live in China. They are willing to go the extra mile there.

It’s funny that the European interiors are junk compared to the Chinese ones, the iX3 is the perfect example.
The interior of the European iX3 is what it is; the materials and finishes are what define its minimalist/modernist luxury style, no matter how much you try to denigrate it with every word you write.

That the Chinese version is better, sure, the reason has been explained several times. It's like what always happened in the USA; European models were much better there, especially in the '80s and '90s, etc., for the same reason: to be able to compete on equal footing, with more equipment and more in line with local tastes, in China it has leather instead of fabric on the dashboard, materials combining colors and better equipment (equipment that will soon be optionally available in Europe according to what they said).

Did you know that the GLC EQ in China also will come with "ultra-luxury" split rear seats exclusively for China? So, are you also going to say that the interior of the European GLC EQ is junk?

The European car makers are putting all their focus on the Chinese market, hence they mostly wanting to add in the biggest and best screens and producing special LWB models that have more luxurious rear seat arrangments and at the same time their prices are lower than the EU market.

Absolutely, and they are finally doing it at the level they should because they are "obligated" to do so if they don't want to continue losing market share there. You only have to watch a video of the Beijing Auto Show, cars worth $15,000/$20,000 with spectacular equipment, materials and finishes.

That Beijing Auto Show had some spectacular cars, with EV tech, equipment, interior materials that shame the Germans. I think the Big Germans had a big wake up call.
