I have no idea but since only a total of 500 are being made, you can expect it to be as rare as an Enzo. It doesn't get any more italian than this. The design is all sexy and emotional. :eusa_clap

Re: Spy Shots: Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

Good God. This car is phenomenal. On another note, does anyone else here think the car is better served badged as a Maserati? If this was the GranT it would be just amazing.

BTW, the rims on the first post are QP Sport GT rims. :D

No i think this car looks and feels like a true Alfa the style doesn't look like Maserati at all IMHO of course, besides Alfa needs this car to revive the brand in abanboned markets like the U.S.

The new Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione will be the first car from the Italian label to be sold in the US since the brand disbanded operations in the world’s biggest car market, but it’s not expected to arrive until late 2009. However, the car will officially go on sale in Europe following this week’s Frankfurt Motor Show. It will be built in a limited run of just 500 examples and carry a price tag of $227,000 (€165,000) according to Automotive News Europe.

The first market to receive the new 450hp model will be Germany, which has been allotted 80 cars all up. The largest market will be the US, which gets 90 cars. Other key markets, Italy and Japan will receive 80 and 70 units respectively, while both the UK and France get 40 cars each. Switzerland gets 35 cars and the remaining 65 units are reserved for the rest of the globe.

The 8C will be built in Italy by Maserati and will be followed next year by a new Spider convertible model. Click here to see more details on the 8C Competizione in our previous story.

:t-cheers:

Wow! €165,000 for 450hp. That's expensive but it is one very beautiful car. Exclusive too.

$227,000!

For that price I can buy an Audi R8 AND a Porsche GT3... do you really think I'd buy this damn Alfa!

Not really. The American's will be paying roughly $165,000 for it. Still that's a lot of money. Add a few bucks and you'll get a DBS. On the other hand the C8 is a collectors item and is a very desirable car for people who already own a 911 GT3, Murcielago, RR Phantom II and other older cars. It's Italian design at it's best.

This isn't really a car for the average 25 years old looking for a sports car.

Wow that is the best combination óne can think of for that money, but i have to say that the Alfa is a superb car and will drive like a dream!

This is how those renderings on the upcoming Gullwing Benz should look like. this alfa is a beauty and I hope it comes with a good price.

It is quite obvious this car is aimed at wealthy collectors and Alfa enthustiasts, who either have the R8 and the GT3, or who simply could care less for those two. I'm not at all sure what I'd do if faced with the choice...

Here you go:

IMO the interior could have been more tastefully designed. It looks a bit too ordinary which is a disappointment when the exterior is that beautiful.

It's dead hot though. It's a big shame that it's not priced like the Vantage/R8. Alfa can make some big dough off this car. The exterior is simply flawless. Sexy, beautiful and interesting at the same time.

As recently as last week, we had 99 Americans all excited about becoming potential owners of the new Alfa 8C Competizione. But Automotive News says the Italians will only ship 90 copies of the gorgeous $200,000 two-seater over here after everyone else in the world has gotten theirs.

So, according to Automotive News, we're still getting the biggest allotment, with Germany and Italy getting 80, Japan 70, France and the UK 40, and Switzerland 35. That leaves 65 cars tagged as "other."

Maybe you nine Americans who got left out can find out where those "others" are going and offer a serious premium. Then again, there's always next year. And eBay.

Those of us who never had any hope of affording one, might get some consolation from our gallery of photos.
