Renders Alfa Future Products until 2019

Rendering design concepts, development to final presentation, upcoming technology and development, and what is coming next
New render for the 5 series competitor.

Big saloons weren't Alfa Romeo's strong suit, but with the company having right now a proper platform at their disposal, creating a new flagship to scare models like the BMW 5-Series and the Volvo S90 is an opportunity not to be missed.
being launched in many markets and the upcoming SUV, rumored to be called Stelvio, also getting ready for its first public outing.

There have been multiple reports saying that the Italians were indeed going to further expand the brand's range with a mid-size sedan, which could revive the Alfetta nameplate.

The new model would share the same RWD platform with the Giulia and the Stelvio SUV, as well as most of the powertrains, including the 2.9-liter biturbo V6 used in the Quadrifoglio. Given that Alfa Romeo is going to officially jump on the ‘electrification’ bandwagon starting 2018, it’s possible for the new Alfetta to be the first model to benefit from the new hybrid powertrains, too.

The render we have here uses the styling elements first introduced in the Giulia, and the end result is both muscular and elegant despite the larger dimensions of the body. If the saloon eventually gets the green light, it will be interesting to see how Alfa Romeo positions it in the market, given that sister company Maserati is already present in the segment with the Ghibli.

Today I had Alfa Stelvio test drive and dealer's employee told me that Alfa will have coupe like 4 series on next year. Maybe this year will be reveal.

If they do this, you can forget the Chrysler based Ghibli. There will be no point of buying one.

No...

Plans are clear and 4 Series rival is not in the plan. Cayan/Boxster rival is likely. 5 Series rival is likely.

He denied this.
I asked about coupe and I asked him it will be more like an old GTV or a BMW 4-series and He assured that will be more like BMW 4-series.
Simply Giulia Coupe.

Interesting that Alfa won't have suv coupe like X6 or X4. He benchmarks Stelvio to X4 - not X3.

And the next model from Alfa is...

Compact crossover based on a FWD platform.

I was about to ask the same question. Both the MiTo and Giulietta are poor selling hatchbacks that could benefit from the love and thoughtfulness put into the Giulia.
It's a shame the Giulietta is not selling that much. I find it to be a damn fine automobile for its segment!

It is very good looking but reviews are poor. Good hatchbacks are the backbones of any European manufacturer and the only Italian ones that are hits are the Fiat 500 and Panda. The MiTo and Giulietta need to be attract more than just die hard Alfa fans.

And then you have Audi A1 which is selling very good. But that's just Polo and IMO Germans do not make B-segment cars as good as Italians and French.

Giulietta came out at the wrong time. Thy benchmarked it against Golf 6 and 2nd generation of A3 when Golf 7 and 3rd generation of A3 were just around a corner.

B segments Alfas are not in the plans. But never say never. At least for B segment crossover. Fiat 500X is not bad. I just compared numbers with Audi Q2. For both review in Quattroruote.
Audi Q2 2.0 TDI 150 HP DSG AWD and Fiat 500X 2.0 MJT 140 HP AT9 AWD. Almost identical measured weight. Very close in lap time around Vairano. 500X has more in length from pedals to back seat rest.

What's interesting about the Guiletta is that it has not aged and still looks classic and very Italian. Unfortunately looks don't count for much in this highly contested segment when competence does. The Mito again looks lost in the segment against MINI and Audi's A1 there is nothing virtually going for it yet it's looks. In that segment it's the visual aspects that appeal but also culture. Despite being Italian it virtually stands for nothing. It's the partygoer who actually believes they had the full "luxury" experience at the Fyre Festival.

As a die-hard old-school french hatch enthusiast, I have to admit that the Germans, make the only well built cars in the segment. If only they were a tad entertaining on the road...

I wholeheartedly agree!

It's a shame that the Giulietta does feel a generation old, but at the same time is one of the most rewarding to drive compared to the surgery-like sterilization that is the Golf.

Agreed!

FCA is in a great position here if they leverage these new platforms correctly. Alfa could become their Audi if they play it right. A 4-Series coupe and convertible competitor should definitely be in the plan. As should be a 5-Series fighter. Then you need a big SUV. Problem is what do they do with Maserati? Easy. Give the Ghibli and the Levante a turbo Ferrari V8! Why on earth isn't the Quattroporte wearing one of Ferrari's V12s? A 3.8L V8 is the top engine in a 150K sedan intended to compete with Mercedes, BMW and Audi's best cars??? I know they know the meaning of stuffing a big engine into everything, look at the Hellcat, Demon and Trackhawk (as SUV no less!) models. The new Wrangler should definitely have a V8 option. The new Grand Wagoneer should have a stunning new look inside and out, something that resets the bar like the new Lincoln Navigator does for American luxury while not being ashamed to compete with the usual import brands. Last but not least, they need partner for a small sedan and midsize family sedan under the Chrysler/Dodge brands.

LOL! :ROFLMAO:

As should be a 5-Series fighter.

The 5-Series segment is a red ocean that even Volvo's S80/S90 is struggling to survive in. Volvo recently released a financial report which blamed shrinking margins on high costs of the S90/V90 and XC90.

Taxi companies and Uber drivers wouldn't touch an Alfa saloon with a barge pole, entry level 5/E/A6 leases are too good to resist and private buyers prefer the Germans as they are better all rounders than anything that Alfa could viably develop.

Why go big? That's a really small portion of market in %. And they can make V8 bigger.

Big engines are not important in Europe and China. Power and fuel consumption are. And currently China is the biggest market for Maserati and in the future could bee also for Alfa Romeo. China has engine capacity based taxes.

So what, MB, BMW and Audi and others have no problem with this. Sounds like a lack of funds/excuse to me. If you're going to take on the luxury leaders then you need to come properly equipped. There is no excuse they can't offer bigger engines in certain Masers. A V12 would be perfect in the Quattroporte. You have to be a world player if you want to succeed, not just focusing on China or Europe. There are lots of rich buyers in the U.S. and Arab regions with more money that they know what to do with. Maser needs V8s in the Ghibli and Levante ASAP.
