What a chaos! Geez!

The whole country, and the capital in particular is under heavy snowfalls.

About 15 inches of snow ... and still snowing heavily. OK, it's not unusually - snow in the winter. But haven't had such heavy snowfalls since 10 years or so ago.

I barely made it to my office. It took me 2 hours for a few miles!!!!! The first time in my life I had to use snow chains on my car! In a city!!!!
Not to mention I came in my office all soaking wet - since installing the chains in the middle of heavy snowfalls is not a pleasure at all.

DSC sign in my 3er was on constantly - haven't seen anything like that yet.

Traffic totally jammed. Completely. Plows working in overdrive ... Yet without any real effect.

Broken tree branches on the roads. Pedestrians on the roads - since pavements are full of snow.

My secretary has stuck somewhere in the traffic, the guy I'm scheduled to meet today can't meet me since the city airport is closed ... flights canceled. So, he had to stay in Brussels.

My briefing haven't arrived yet since delivery service has huge delays. Nor are the newspapers.

So, I'm sitting here in my office ... drinking instant coffee, browsing internet, doing nothing ... Without pants - since they are all soaking wet. Great ...

F...g Snow! Hate it, hate it, hate it.

My car outside is already completely covered in snow ... I guess I'll have to leave it there till the weather & traffic conditions settle down. Just great!

edit; PS: my GF just told me some idiot crashed a cargo van in her Fiesta. She's OK, thanks God. But the car is not, obviously. What a "great" day indeed. :t-banghea

What a morning report…sounds terrible snowy…

I've never experienced any thing like that - but reading your short summary, I don't have to!

Well, I wish you a nice day anyway and good luck, for having a chance to drive home tonight!!

It has finally stopped snowing. Everything is back to "normal" ... kind a. My 3er is still a "snowymobile". ;)

Airport is opend again. Btw, the last time the airport was closed due snowfalls was 22 years ago!

Forecast for the next days: high temperatures - over 0, and (heavy) rain. So, all the 17 inches of snow will melt quickly. Imagine the mess!

I do ... I really do hate winter in a city. Except for Christmas / New Year. :D

Go to a parking lot and practice some effortless power slides.

At the office, alone, no secretary, tons of coffee. I can't help it, but my mind goes dirty :D

I'm sorry to hear about the Fiesta! Time to get an Audi A1 i think :D

wow,where do u live dude? north pole?:D

BTW the weather here in Cairo is ridiculously sunny and hot in the morning!

Yup, here as well Tarek. I was cursing all morning long for taking the Clio with me instead of the Volvo, since the Clio has no A/C :D

It's because you have a BMW, should have got an A4 (quattro) you would have got to work fine:D My teacher is always complaining about his BMW in the ice and snow:)

Anyway sounds like you had a rough morning, as for sitting in your office with out pants...Hummmmmm not something you hear everyday:D

Hope the rest of your day goes well:t-cheers:

BMW 3-series with X-Drive or Mercedes 4matic would do the same - no need for the Quattro system… :usa7uh:

I've seen the car. Is not that damaged at all. It will survive. :D Yet the lady is in love with new Fiesta already. But will have to wait ...

Almost. Ljubljana, Slovenia.
But today we experienced the episode "North Pole goes south" :D

DSC + snow chains managed the job, thank you. Yet I guess RWD isn't really appropriate for snowy weather. xDrive next time. :D

Hope the rest of your day goes well.

It's OK. Roads are clean. It's raining outside. I cleaned my car but couldn't get out of parking lot since a plow made a snowy wall right by my car. A huge wall. So, I have to wait a day or two the snow melts down.

So, currently we are "carless" ... One blocked, the other crashed. So, tomorrow my secretary will also be my driver. :D

I feel sorry for you mate! I wish I was somewhere with snow... 24/7 killing sun down here is fire hot... crazy! :t-banghea

then we must have had the same weather conditions, after all graz isn't that far off. :D
but suprisingly our city was good prepared, which suprisedme. cause the first heavy snowfall from about 2 weeks ago totally collabsed the streets. there were no snowmobiles on the streets till 4p.m ... its okay if you work in an office, but not if you have a Ford Connect to deliever meals...

:tantrum: Boohoo!

You're being such a cry baby, EnI. :D:D:D:bangin::razz: Snow is just H2O in solid form. And nobody can hate water, 70 % of yourself is water. :D;)

You should just adapt to the weather and enjoy it 'cause the weather won't adapt itself to your will. ;)

I hear on BBC Radio 1 about snow shutting down the UK. boo hoo a foot or two of snow. I loved driving in the snow in my Audi, great fun and it could not get stuck.
Just be a man and push through the snow "mountain".
I almost parked on a huge pile of snow once at the air port because there was no other spots, but then they opened up another lot so I did not have to. Wonder what they would have done if I had.
Today it was 72, I had to turn on the A/C for a while.
