Actor Julien Chabbott sued for $10M after running over NYPD policeman's foot [video]

I think these quotes sums it up -

This is what happens when an Idiot driver that has no respect to authority meets a idiot abusive cop which is preoccupied with his authority. The driver should be thrown in jail and the cop should be removed from the force. Hope they both get what they deserve!

There are real police officers in this country busting their ass everyday. Now you have this a$$hole trying to get rich off of the system that he swore to protect. There are police getting hurt in the line of duty by real criminals. They do not sue. They go get rehabilitated and come out to serve the public and to protect the citizens in their towns/cities. Some even die. I watched this story and see how this dirtbag abused his power by showing passive aggressive behavior. So NYPD, not all of you are bad, but a lot of you are starting to look bad in the country and worlds eyes.

1. He parked at a foul spot.
2. He completely ignored the police officer.
3. He tried to escape before the officer had finished writing the ticket.
4. He tried to shove the police away using his car.

The constable put his foot under the wheel. Place the blame where it belongs... I guess this copper didn't know he was on tape.

^I'm sure they would have done him like Rodney King if he was successful in getting away.

On the other hand, I truly believe that anyone unarmed should not be treated with such force in anyway unless they have a weapon.
-------------------------------------------------

Recio continued, "I believe he deliberately drove towards me with an intent to hurt me."

Uh Huh...Sure! The again can a cop sue considering he was on duty?

About the cop suing, I agree that there might be some shady intent there, no argument, though I feel he's entitled to something from the guy's negligence.

The thing is, being a cop isn't as easy as some think. You don't know if a guy's armed or not. You expect a cop to politely ask a guy who's breaking the law in a fashion that forces the cop to now have to chase after him in pursuit or due to assault, if he has a weapon, then believe the guy, and react accordingly? Remember, cops deal with the scumbags of the world on a first name basis, they rarely hear the truth. It benefits us to understand that when dealing with a cop.

People expect too much respect from cops but don't like to reciprocate. The cop for all he knows feels a guy who's crazy enough to drive away from him, might be brandishing a weapon. When a cop acts, he has to act FAST and hardcore, not give the perp a chance to pull out his own weapon. IF YOU give a cop a reason to treat you like a criminal, a GOOD cop won't invite you to dance elegantly, they will handle you.

My Cousin is a volunteer cop (when he's not running his very profitable business) and I hear so many stories from their side, it's fascinating. People really have NO IDEA the crap they deal with.

This cop should come to work in France, he'd know what it really means to be disrespected.

LOL. Police in france have less authority than a Janitor! I couldn't believe how weak their levels of respect given are.

Hahahahaha! Always amusing to watch an outta shape cop on foot pursuit of a perp!
Ferrari boy shouldn't have attepmpted to move the vehicle. Just plain stupid. Always remain legal and they cant touch you. Now glorified ticket maid wants his own 458 without working for it.

He put it there for a reason. The guy wouldn't stop. He was already there in front of the car, just moved in closer to prevent him from moving. Plus if someone is standing in front of your car, by the wheel arch, where do you think his foot is Doctor? Whose the one with a weapon now?

I do not agree. He moved (snuck) in, put his foot under there. He should have made a stop sign if he really wanted the driver to stop, now he behaved like he was trying to make it look like he was not aware of the car moving. Unprofessional.

I would love to sue the cop, it would have been an easy win with that tape showing what he did (+ the grave overreaction when he had accomplished his goal).
