Supercar company SSC isn't the only contender for the Bugatti Veyron's speed throne. German Porsche tuner 9ff has spent the past two years working up a 911 it hopes will hit 254 mph, 1 mph faster than the Alsatian Bug. The GT9 is powered by a twin-turbo Porsche flat six displacing 4.2 liters and producing 910-950 hp horsepower. Whether or not the GT9 does unseat the Bugatti at the Nardo test track later this year, you can still get one for the considerable sum of 476,000 EUR. Of course, you might want to wait; that level of cash outlay will go down better if the GT9 isn't merely the second fastest in the world. – Mike Spinelli

It has an old look.... Porsche... What can you really expect them to do? They cant make it look better than the CGT.

But this is far from beating a Veyron overall...

Yep, agreed, dissapointing.

Damn...that looks fugly. Why is everyone and their grandma trying to break Veyron's record when that car is more than just Top Speed?
