Autozeitungs verdict:
They were impressed with the Jaguar, its beautiful and with good comfort but it lacks power compared to the competition. The bimmer has good allround qualities. The same for SL 500. The 911 is a true sportcar with the best driving dynamics.

Interesting, if I were interested in this segment of cars Id still choose the
SL500. It`s performance is more than enough for everyday use plus it`s still is the best looking car in the group.

but the colour on the SL is ugly. What's the name of the colour?

Yeah, I agree. that appears to be Desert Silver, I wouldn`t choose that color.
The SL is available in a slew of nice colors. that color is not sporty at all.

I saw a new XK on display with the Jag vintage racers at Road Atlanta last week. It looked like the ungodly love child of an Aston and a Taurus.:D

i think the colour actually suits the car very nicely....i saw the new xk and its really nice untill you look @ the front....the headlights don't look right

The colour of the SL is PUTRID. It appears to be a special disigno combination as indicated by the disigno badging on the seat backrest.

What a delightful group of cars. Tough choice for me between the 911 and the SL for me. Yes the SL is in the worst possible color. In the U.S. this is the Silver Designo Edition, ugly as hell color I think. I like the interior though. I wonder why they didn't test the convertible versions of the other cars? Those acceleration times look a little slow too especially for the Jaguar it has to be faster than that. Did they declare a winner?

hard to tell. In the verdict they just mentioned what I wrote above.

the jag dont even have 300hp so its clearly underpowered.

Why is there a lawnmower engine in the XK ?

What else could have they fitted into the XK?

Fitting AM's V12 would be an overkill, and anything less than a V8 would be blasphemy. If they created an all-new engine for this XK I'd have appreciated it, but I don't think Jaguar is in any financial position to do so.

Some thoughts i made after seeing the cars:

1- Porsche has the less apealing interior
2-Jaguar apears to have the best crafted interior
3-Jaguar also has the ugliest exterior , looks like a Ford Taurus
4-That color of the SL is horrible
5-BMW is the most capable sports car of those if we don't count Porsche

Overall i would take the 650i which has the best balance between design/quality and road behaviour.

What happend to the XKR engine? It had like 400 hp, but I don't know about the price of the car.

I'd agree that the BMW is probably the most balanced in terms of capabilities, but the Porsche actually is a comfortable car to drive everyday, the suspension is not that harsh driving around urban areas. Only if u use that active suspension and set it to Sport will it firm up alot.

It would be a toss up between the Porsche and the MB to me.

I would choose the Porsche but it has the worse interior by far IMO. I would hate being inside that car on everyday basis.

I'm quite surprised really - the Porsche's interior draws uncanny parallels to Audi interiors, in the way everything is so dreary, and yet full of quality and functionality. I won't say for sure that Porsche's interiors are just like Audi's, but from the pictures and an aesthetic point of view, I feel they are quite similar.

I completely agree.
I prefer the Porsche interior to all the others, IMO it's nearly perfect.

I cant decide between the 650i vs. the 911. Of course I would have to drive them both....My gut is leaning towards the carrera. Carrera it is. (however the manual transmission is really what swayed my position)

I've driven heavily in urban and country areas in the 911S, and I must say it is quite livable, and the interior is not bad at all. Its not meant to be covered in wood like a jag or a benz, but is more like a functional sports car that has nice appointments.

I had no problems with the interior experience of the car, power everything even with upper and lower lumbar supports. The only real thing that I could complain about was the Navigation took some time to get used to. Otherwise the interior doesn't detract from the experience of driving :t-drive:

Perhaps if it was in a lighter color like this one i would change my mind but the design looks dated to me. The Porsche interior i like most (apart from Carrera GT) is the one in Cayenne!

Cayman is nice also:
