If I could afford it then I would rather go for a 981 Cayman GTS or GT4.

The GT4 is a whole different animal, the GTS doesn't justify the price premium and the 718 looks much better.

As a final note, I would say that for the price of a base 718 CS, take a non-S 718 Cayman and throw it whatever the options you can and be a happy man as I would!

I would love the gt4 but that's an extra 40k... I agree about 718 s bring better than gts apart from sound... It's quicker and has nice upgrades. I think people get too stuck on the flat 6 being gone

This will be my first porsche, so I'm going for the s and I'll deck it out... Just don't know about pdk/manual.

For a first Porsche experience you can't wrong with either the 718 or the 718 S, manual or PDK.

If you are used to manual, go manual... you'll soon find out that there's no manual gearbox like the Porsche one, otherwise go PDK.
