Videos 5th Gear: BMW 135i vs Cayman

While I would take a Cayman S over 135, I'd definitely take 135 over the vanilla Cayman.
Me too, interestingly that 135i looks amazing in the metal. Much less of a Noddy car than I initially wagered it would be.

That the 135i can match or beat any Porsche (excluding the Cayenne) is a testament to itself!

It comes with a whole lot more power. The Cayman is severely under powered and is an entry model while the 135i is the top of the line 1er.

LoL I was waiting for Luw to reply ;) Cayman may be underpowered but 135i lack a mid-engine and have a higher weight than Cayman. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, there isnt really a need for excuses becuase these two were built in different ways and different philosophies in mind.
Shame you have to pay an utterly high price to get a more powerful Cayman.

It cost to be on top. The Cayman S is off course THE Cayman S to have while the Cayman is basically for environmentalist or people who simply want the Porsche mid-engine experience and aren't power hungry. The Boxster is slight cheaper and is IMO a better choice than the Cayman.

The 135i makes such a good second car. It's got plenty of torque, easy to tune, and bloody fast out of the box... not to mention M-pack comes standard.

Also keep in mind that this car had runflats... heavy and not as grippy. This is one serious performance car. If only it was a bit cheaper

Weird. I figured the Cayman would've smoked the 135i in the slalom.

Cayman S maybe, but not the regular version. While some people are calling the 135i a wimp, it's nothing to laugh at. It's a damn quick car for the money
