520d won almost every single comparison it participated in.
530d does pretty well too

My point (that I admittedly did not articulate well enough) was it is not dominating the competition for it's dynamic prowesses the way say E39 did. It is a good all around car with some brilliant engines. So yea, I can see the more practical versions winning for it's all around abilities.

Notice the score the 5 series got for its ride. This is exactly what Aussie reviews have said about most recent BMW's. An odd combination of poor body control and firm rides without the adaptive suspension upgrades. So much for being the 'Luxury' choice.

I don't see it winning any road test comparisons.

Its doing better in European carmags (with exceptions of course), same goes for F30. BMW new strategy isnt working for America.

Since all but one image is missing who exactly did win, I've already got it that the 5 series didn't but apart from that I'm in the dark.

P.S.
If it's the A6 then I reckon it's as much to do with it's engine as anything else.

Yeah the A6 won Deck.

Without a turbo the E350 simply can't cut it in terms of performance and responsiveness. Even if it is more than enough engine for most people 90% of the time.

The A6 is a very good car but that supercharged engine is a real gem IMO, I'd chose that engine over any of the others in this test hands down.
