Not a poll, not a "vs". Just want to juxtapose the two awesome cars and appreciate the designs...

My current favorite supercars... :)
Very different approach, one is much more muscular and sporty looking, the other very clean and a little more GT-looking. I hope McLaren doesn't mess up in the coming years with the 7xxLT.

My current favorite supercars... :)
I agree 100% these are my favorite but my other 2 favourites are the Performante and GT2 RS as they also are much different in execution and just as awesome

The 488 is really perfected now,it looks miles better than the 720S which is fom 3/4 rear view is too soft and looks like it's missing something.

I've seen the 720S in that colour and the way the counters reflect lights and create shadows is utterly mesmerising. It one of the most unique and original supercar designs for a long time.

The LT version of it will be spectacular in both design and performance.

These are nice and all, but I would take Performante and GT2 RS over both of these.

Back in 2009 I thought the 458 Italia is the top. The maximum. The perfection. Well, 9 years later... :D

I have seen both the 720s and the standard 488 side by side and the 720s completely over shadows the 488 in every angle, however this 488 Pista is a completely different story. I will take the Pista thanks.

Both cars are obviously amazing. However, one aspect we’re not considering is the sales volume: the pista has been completely sold out since two plus years. The order vs. car ratio is close to 11:1. The 720s is on track but slightly below expectations. Production is not sold out for the lifespan. Of course, the Pista is a special series and I’m sure the 760 LT will also be in higher demand.

Pista isn`t limited, is it? I read somewhere that it will be produced until the end of 488`s production.

Both are amazing, would be hard decision to choose between them. And then there is Huracan Performante and GT2 RS....

I can walk into a McLaren dealership right now, order a 720 - no waitlist, and take delivery in 4 months. Impossible with the Pista.

One thing I noticed about the F12 tdf is that most owners took delivery months after the 812 was unveiled. Personally, I'd hate to wait that long.

From the F-chat photo thread, many of those TdF's were highly customized/optioned out, so they definitely took their time with them.

I'd have tough time choosing between these two. I really like the 720S, the aerodynamic works is a step up from anything out there except for the neu hypercars, i.e. Valkyrie, Project One, etc. And the resulting design is out this world to the point of almost being alien. It's forward-looking with nods to the past. The Macca's accelerating power is something else. From the reviews, my only wish would be to give it a bit more edge.

The Pista continues in the fine tradition of the Stradale, Scuderia, and Speciale. The 488's design was growing long in the tooth, partly the reason is that it's an evolution of the 458. But the nip here, a tuck there, and a few embellishmnents really makes this car pop, particularly the silver-liveried example at the Geneva Show. Acceleration seems pretty on par with the 720S and seems a bit more ferocious in the way it goes about its thing; we'll have to wait for reviews to confirm. While we wait, I think the Pista holds a slight advantage over the 720S.

Now bring out the LT version and see if this raises the ante.
