Seems to have lost the more sporting aesthetics of the XC 60. Maybe we will get an XE 60 coupe as a compromise?

With Thomas Ingenlath coming back to Volvo Cars as design director as of February, I am wondering whether he will promote the concept of returning to a luxury/executive, low ride height sedan. IMHO, the S/V90 was and remains a very good looking automobile. The new ES90 is so tall and actually far more of a crossover than a genuine sedan.

All I want to know is will they install a HUD and a drivers display or will the continue the low rent de-contented cheap looking interior theme from the EX30?

Looks like a serious winner imho. I’d consider this my favorite from the pack. Very closely followed by iX3. GLC electric and Q6 is far away. Plus we got the battery capacity right 117 kWh gross, probably around 113 net

Volvo has previously said that producing the rear floor section of the SPA3 platform as one piece via this method allows it to omit around 100 individual smaller parts, while dramatically reducing the amount of welded joints and cutting weight by about 50%.

Another significant development is the move to a cell-to-body battery design, which does away with the weighty, costly 'battery box' that features under the floor of most EVs today in favour of a new design where the cells are integrated directly into the frame of the car, which saves weight, boosts rigidity and takes up less space. It also saves on material costs and increases efficiencies in the production process.

Lol. Someone watched Tesla's Battery Day event in 2021.

IDK why but the styling looks underbaked to me. Visually doesn't appear like a compact-mid SUV like the iX3, GLC, and Q6 do.. idk this looks kinda like a fat hatchback to me...

Also there's those new door handles which we will surely see adorning the X5, X7, Q7, and Q9 shortly :cautious:

Was about to say the same. This 2030 Agenda interiors need to go away.

if 2030 Agenda is the color code of that drab brown interior, I fully agree. Monotone yuckness.

The part under the screen kinda looks like a pull out rubbish bin, other than that, I like it.

That's an Airfryer for Swedish meatballs. It started with a little vase in the Beetle, then we got a baguette holder in the Renault 5, and now we have a functional Swedish kitchen.

On a positive note the space between the front seats to put a bag is. That alone will win many female customers at a dealership. No need to go to the boot or put a bag in the backseat footwell. Just step into the front seat with it, and put it in a designated space and not the passenger seat triggering seatbelt warning.

I dislike the humpback rear. Odd shaped b pillar for a car that is not s three row. Inside, it’s lovely and has lots of parallels with Range Rover interiors. Calming, minimal shiny plastic or use of harsh textures like wood or carbon fibre. Makes the ix3 interior look over designed and too visually busy.

I love all this quirky european crap, I really do. :p
