Rumors :

- Will have +700hp
- Will have a High rev Bi-turbo setup
- Will be show this year (Possibly August)

I don't get it.

I would get it if there's no upcoming GT2 RS. And only then.
I get, what you are saying... it sounds logical. On the other hand: The most limiting factor of the 992.1 GT3 RS is power. Everyone including all professionals tell you this.
So, what shall Porsche do? The NA engine can't be pushed to more power. Not with the existing packaging/ emission constraints!
Aero and suspension are already absolutely insane. They are basically x times better than engine power. Investing further in suspension and aero for a .2 GT3 RS makes no sense and would shift this imbalance even further!

What I can think of - to maintain a differentiation between GT3 RS and GT2 RS:
GT3 RS gets a soft turbo and remains high-reving (9k). Power just gets upped to 600hp/600Nm.
GT2 RS gets hybrid setup with big turbo and towards 40% more power than GT3 RS.
Characteristics of both cars will remain completely different.

The question I'm asking myself is : Is the 992.2 GT2 RS even guaranteed ? I see a LOT of people talking about it. I've been reading through news and other forums as well, multiple sources have been speaking of this turbocharged 992.2 GT3 RS with around 650PS to come in 2026.

The GT2 RS, I didn't see as much content for it. Last gen 991.2 GT2 RS was revealed before the 991.2 GT3 RS. In 2010, the 997.2 GT2 RS was revealed, then the 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 after that. It'd make sense to see the GT2 RS once again come out before the 992.2 GT3 RS, yet we have very very vague rumours about it at the moment. Looking at the whole package that the GT2 RS "should" bring, I actually think it's not going to make it.

How are they going to manage making it hybrid, run tons of power to set it apart from the 992.2 3RS, and manage cooling with a downforce package that should be at least on par with the current 992.1 GT3 RS?

For my part, I have heard 700hp, 9200rpm and August 2026 for the unveiling of the 992.2 GT3 RS and Q2 2027 for the hybrid 992.2 GT2 RS with 900hp. I will certainly have clearer details by March.
