Rumour is, given JLR’s tie-up with Chery, that JLR sanctioned Jetour’s styling of the T2 being heavily inspired by Defender. Ironic now that the appropriation extends further with Freelander being resurrected as a standalone brand likely under the custodianship of Chery.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Chery gobbled up JLR.

In the UK the Jaecoo everywhere and consumers LOVE it. It’s affordable, looks good, well equipped snd practical. They have fully embraced that it’s Chinese.

It will interesting to see how the Freelander will be priced in the uk. It looks defender seized and a 2.0l petrol plugin hybrid suggests that might be the case or else it would have a 1.5l. If its price between a Jaecoo and defender, it could be s hit!

The "Range Rover spectrum" is brooooooad. Goes from Jaecoo through to 2.0L Defenders with Urban kits that try to look like a Brabus G800 to full fat Range Rovers close to Bentley money.
