I wear many faces.

I can't wait to meet Porsche, Lucid and Audi on the track. Where has the Model S gone?

Nah, the difference would be meaningless in real life. Watch the upcoming EV version of the new E class drive further than this, while being boxier and more spacious.

Still think the OG CLS remains the perfect mix of traditional 3 box sedan and coupe. It simply hits a sweet spot not seen since. Same counts for the OG BMW X6. This new AMG is just over the top for me personally, but at least proportion wise it's an improvement over the ICE AMG 4 door, which looks like a beached whale. This EV looks smooth like the Taycan.
Late here
The new EV C-Class and this AMG GT are equally matched in drag coefficient, 0.22.
The electric C is shaped like a coupe, though. I was going to bring up the CLS in this discussion as well. AMG would throw out the idea of a revived CLS of some sort. There is just no way AMG would create a traditional 3-box sedan, or coupe sedan for that matter, as their top dog performance car. The GT has a liftback advantage; the CLS does not.

The previous version might look like a fat beach whale, but I see quite a few of them running around my two-state area. They definitely outnumber anything from Porsche or the BMW 8-Series GC. I am wondering what these owners think of an all-electric GT with no ICE version available. Mercedes might have gambled on yet another good formula. Performance EV sales seemed to have soften quite a bit from Porsche, and some automakers have dropped the idea of a performance EV altogether. Word is out that the European Commission has significantly softened its original 2035 phase-out of ICE engines.
I think AMG should have gone with the V8. Mercedes should know, never mess with a successful formula.

I’m thinking the upcoming E63 will cover those buyers. Tho a V8 in this new GT would be a killer.

The Mercedes fans have all talked themselves around on this car.

I am Jack's total lack of surprise.

In my opinion this car doesnt look its best in black. In blues, greens, reds, some browns and kalahari gold it looks great and its okish in the canary yellow launch colour. Certainly a car that stands out from the crowd. It looks different to every single car in that video, nothing looks this dramatic.

I love the shape of it.
Looks sculpted and intentional. If future Mercedes EVs are shaped like this, then they'd be brilliant.

I agree. Even though it hides a lot of design kinks, regular black is not all that flattering to this model.

I imagine matte paints would look better.

Agree with the comments. I think they should have used a different launch color tho. Yellow was too jarring but then again that seems to be what they wanted.
