I fully agree.

The predecessor was really good, especially in the right color combination and without HV battery.

I would not consider the previous generation as "gorgeous". When it was released, it rubbed many of us the wrong way and looked like a beached whale. Even in real life, from behind it gave the air of a lifted station wagon. Sure, it grew on me over time.
