I can't shake my suspicion that the "Chinese Buyers" boat has sailed for M-B/AMG. Stuttgart and Affalterbach would be well advised to start very seriously concentrating on the EU/UK markets. And gear up Tuscaloosa and perhaps expand manufacturing presence in general in the U.S. And as daring as it may sound today, Ukraine could develope into a massive market in the longer term future. Rheinmetall AG is investing massively there.

Comparing the latest automotive design trends to those of yesteryear is a bit pointless. Today, automotive themes change like fashion clothing statements that mostly fit the needs of customer demands. Minimalism (and or understated elegance) seems to be taking a second seat to the gaudy themes that are trickling into the latest top-end vehicles, it seems. I don`t like the screens in this either. I think its too close to the GLC, CLA EVs with a few differences. The doorcards are rich-looking and brilliant, but for a car that has over 1200hp, it should have grab handles built into them. Your passengers will definitely need something to hold to with that kind of extreme force in multiple directions.
For full on EV, this car appears to have more decorated analog switchgear than anything else, priced south side of a Rolls Royce Spectre, which is spectacular IMO.

Tbh, I think Rolls Royces and Bentleys are just as gaudy and tasteless. Just in a completely different way.

At least they have physical switchgear I suppose. But it's all designed to be an ostentatious display of wealth. There is no desire for subtlety.

US needs a regime change first.

I certain agree that the current U.S. administration has pretty much destroyed any and all elements of the reliability and security of planning for German manufacturers. A significant dilemma indeed. Perhaps "old tech" CKD's assembled in an expanded Tuscaloosa facility could be a sort of stopgap solution. Things change quickly as well. In some 3 years time, the Trump presidency could conceivably be history. Best solution IMHO: Europe finally gets it's act together and a future of infrastructural renewal, prosperity and peace in Ukraine will be a huge asset. That country has the potential of becoming a massive economic powerhouse.
