GT 2026 AMG GT 4-Door Vision EV

The Mercedes-AMG GT is a series of 2-door sports cars produced by Mercedes-AMG. While not directly replacing the SLS AMG (competing in a different segment), it is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG.
For the design affine: What emotions are evoked ?

I question whether Mercedes-AMG are doing themselves a favor with the abundance of teasers that show little, if anything, new in comparision with the previous teaser. A bit repetitive and potentially a progressing buzzkill.

It struck me as meaningful beyond the context of "Drift of a Lifetime" YouTube video when George Russell dropping the car off said "Sorry for the wait" and Brad Pitt replied "Worth the wait"...in a nudge, nudge, wink, wink fashion...;)

Looks like any random Chinese car. 0% Mercedes DNA.
Take off the AMG letters and we're done. The next Geely, Xiaomi or whatever else they do over there.

Overall, I just think it's really ugly from every angle. These f#cking coupe sedans are killing me. Zero identity.
The styling is so bland and is not close to been desirable as the previous CLS or AMG 4dr Coupe.

Maybe China is the main target market for the car?

If it looks like a Mercedes, people will complain that its distinguishable from an eclass. If the car has 4 or 6 tail light it will at least look original.

...although the photograph above seems to indicate that the rendering is somehow oddly "off", especially pertaining to the flank area/wheelarches, track width and flush body/wheel fitting. Not so easy to articulate..simply "oddly off".

I've always found it regretable that M-B did not build upon the fundamantally nicely proportioned, nicely sculpted and surfaced C257 CLS. IMHO, the C257 was far from "visually obsolete" when it was retired. It looks no less fresh than the MMA CLA. And I suspect no less fresh than the upcoming C-Class EQ. And with "build upon", I don't mean applying tacky, glitzy junk and dozens of stars. I mean wider track, more organically muscular wheelarch sheetmetal, modern front mask and drivetrains for the "bold new tomorrow".

A pity. IMHO, it was one of the more attractive Gorden Wagener supervised M-B design exercises.

They aren’t. It’s terrible. I’m starting to think that teasers and protracted publicity campaigns are not the way to go. How about keeping the car a total secret after you announce it, and then drop it like a bombshell when it’s ready. Like a total media blitz with so much info that the car is all anyone can talk about. All the testing, records, videos all at once with a huge tech drop with dozens of cars in different configurations. I feeling this car is going to produce ong big sigh when shown.
