GT 2026 AMG GT 4-Door Vision EV

The Mercedes-AMG GT is a series of 2-door sports cars produced by Mercedes-AMG. While not directly replacing the SLS AMG (competing in a different segment), it is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG.
Quite an extensive facelift for the Taycan.....

Fitting really. The man responsible for the Taycan has just been appointed to head AMG. Go figure. :ROFLMAO:

This better be a looker out of the box. I fear MB will lack the confidence to stick to their guns and deliver something purely attractive like the AMG GT, and instead try to shove some 'progressive' new design cues down our throats.

Quite possibly simply an unflattering camera angle, but I'm sensing...disappointment. A bit plump, an odd front grill-shield contour.

Following initial high expectations regarding the exterior design, I now expect something anticlimactic. Tech will surely be immensely impressive. Looks ????? Another Gorden Wagener supervised disappointment ? I imagine that Herr Wagener's successor, Bastian Baudy, was deeply involved as well.

Mercedes-Benz design, Quo Vadis ?

The good thing about the styling is the car looks low and sleek and with squared off rear end it has vastly better proportions than the current ICE GT 4dr. It looks more like a classic saloon, but lower and sleeker and not like a hatchback.

Agreed. The ICE GT4-door saloon always looked worse than the M6gc / RS7 to my eyes.
It also frustrated me because it was the reason the E63s couldn't reach it's full potential.

Yeah I agree too. The proportions at least are really great and much better than the ICE version.

Proportions are also better than the Taycan imo, because the Mercedes looks more like a sedan instead of a hatch

I agree.

In terms of "looks", series II Audi RS7 blew it out of the water, IMHO. As did the BMW 6/M6er GC, although it was presented a number of years before the M-B-AMG ICE 4 door GT.

I had always wished the M-B/AMG would have presented a full-fat C257 CLS63 AMG instead. With a widened track and accomodating beefier wheelarches.

IMHO, the better looking M-B 4 door coupe of the day.

I've come to appreciate the C257 as time has plodded on, though the front just lacked something.

Very flattering photoshots of the camofoiled AMG.EA 4 door GT prototypes:

But what will impressions be when the camo-wrappings come off ? Always a bit concerned about M-B design's application of "details". Hopefully are not confronted with the finest prime cut beef filet that has then been covered in multicolored cake sprinkles.

The fact that you can see, both in the spy pics and the concept the same, the sale profile creases as in the rest of recent MBs and specially the EQ line up, is something to be worried about IMO.

I think the proportions are spot on. Super low and sleek. Also the previous generation looked excellent, I don’t get why it gets so much hate.
