Remake of the CC8S (reskinned Jesko)
50 cars
6 speed manual and 9 speed auto in D (but can use 9 gears for shorter gearing on track)
smaller turbos than Jesko
Christian "cares" about the environment so use bio fuels, synthetic fuels, and solar fuels

Not a fan. This is not a manual, but some sort of contraption with feedback connected to their Light Speed Transmission from the Jesko. Calling this a manual or acting like it provides the same experience as a manual is pretty clownish. Then again, when I heard they were making this, this is exactly the sort of nonsense I expected.

And also at the beginning of their presentation all the BS about how the CC8S was the fastest or had the most powerful engine... They built 6 cars in total. It doesn't even remotely qualify as a production vehicle... Koenigsegg really remind of that one episode of South Park where they were satirizing Bono, asking: how can he do so many things that at first sight seem amazing, yet still be such a piece of shit? Well, watch the episode for the answer... And I have the same exact feeling about Koenigsegg, they do so many "amazing" cars, yet their vibe is still that of upstarts who have to constantly peddle BS to get noticed.

Really epic and interesting take on a classic.
Not gonna lie. The original car has iconic looks about and looks exquisite in silver. Fair enough to Christian. He must love his first car but deserves an opportunity to redo it right.

this is why i never became a Koenigsegg fan, they could claim anything they wanted and people would believe them without proof

yet any other manufacturer faced the Hitchens's Razor (even Bugatti) (Razor below)
what can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence

I am in love. The design is so fresh, crisp and free of clutter. Reminds me of the Carrera GT.

do they need a heritage car? they're still technically a young company
Regardless if you are a new or young company, your first product likely sucks or has flaws that you didn't have time or money to resolve.

I prefer the design of this car to the SF90, Regera and a few other hypercars.

I remember back 20 years ago, I first heard of the name Koenigsegg when the promotors of Sydney Motor Show was heavily advertising the Koenigsegg CC8 as the main star attraction.

I was curious so I stopped by the display stand to have a closer look. I was underwhelmed by the design of the car, and I didn't believe such power and performance can be extracted from the supercharged Ford engine sitting in the middle of the car.

However, Christian and his team never gave up, and they have come a long way in this 20 years.

To me, the CC8 50 is the first truly desirable and also the most complete hyper car by Koenigsegg, so a huge congratulations to them.

The engineering that they are putting into gearboxes is next level. Crazy that the one in the new car can be both automatic and mechanically manual.

technically it's the same logic as dual-clutch transmissions, just applying separate axles/clutches for each gear

With all due respect to the Koenigsegg fans/owners, the brand and their hypercars are synonymous for me with 'meh.' Every hypercar maker stands out for one thing or another: Ferrari and Lambo for the heritage; Pagani for the boutique designs; Porsche and McLaren for the excellent technological packages; Bugatti for the sheer extravagance; Aston for the bold and beautiful cars; Lotus for the lightness and handling; and even GMT for the Gordon Murray name or Rimac for the cell tech. What is truly special about a Koenigsegg, in the final analysis?

Christian's personal service, proximity to the founder and possible a very interesting owners community.

Their innovation in gearboxes as stated, carbonfiber applications, (their CF wheels are still unmatched in strength and weight), hybrid application, building and developing most parts in-house, sheer brutality and speed of their cars and strong heritage with their own history in Sweden.

Also Christian knowing every cm/inch on his cars, unlike all of the aftermentioned CEOs, outside of Gordon, Mate and Mr. Pagani.

If I am not mistaken, you're suggesting that the Koenigsegg "brand" makes the cars attractive, and the brand's attraction consists of exclusive networking opportunities.

All of that is true, but I think such perks and quirks do not make Koenigseggs 'special' as hypercars. I appreciate the exclusivity of their cars and customer experience, though.

This applies to many performance cars. Own a tuned Vauxhall Corsa and you'll get to hang with peeps at the local mcdonalds.

Buy a Bugatti and you'll get access to billionaire who you can sell products to or leverage for your own riches.
