It seems the upcoming 7er and X8 designs were finalized when Jozef Kaban was briefly the head of BMW design before heading back to VAG. The Skoda influence is quite noticeable.
That’s what I am afraid of.:nailbiting:

New 7 series launched 2 years earlier with another badge lol

I hope the G70 7-series doesn’t follow the front split headlight design of the Genesis G80!

Junior designer: How many lines and angles do you want up front?

AvH: Yes.

If they perhaps reduced the kidney size and integrate the turn signals into the headlights, perhaps you'd have something interesting that'd sporty and palatable. Instead, we're getting dry heaves. Bloody hell.

What a nice thing to see truly ugly BMWs coming. Will prove my point that it is not the car that sells but just the badge. I'll start selling my daily sh*t with a BMW badge on it.

On a positive note, putting headlights lower on level of normal cars will make them less blinding for normal car drivers.

Interesting conversation...hmmm....

That looks very good, it reminds me of what I consider the most beautiful front of BMW, the E32
Will the new one have something reminiscent of your photo? It doesn't seem like that in the camouflaged spy shots

The E32 became even better looking after BMW started adopting the horizontal kidneys:

I just can't see a BMW sedan (or any other BMW, for that matter), looking better with huge vertical kidneys instead.

Of course not..

(Unfortunately....)
I agree, (also unfortunately), that's why the posting of that photo of the "next 100" in a mysterious way is not clear to me

I think he wanted to show that a vertical grill can work, and as always it’s a matter of context - with those dimensions, clean surfaces, thin and also vertical headlights it indeed looks very good, but unfortunately BMW has an even worse track record than Mercedes regarding implementing designs from successful concept cars or design studies, so I think there is no chance that we will see this car realized. Or if it will be, it will be like the new 4 series compared to that rather awesome design on your profile pic, so... hopeless

The horizontal grille was exclusive to the 750iL before being adapted across the line when the LCI came out in the early nineties. Which even brought in Double Glazing.

In regards to the G70/G71 I am told that it is something beyond conventional for a luxury sedan.

The front clip with the massive overhang might be real. ( I thought it might have been camo at first)
The hoodline is really puffed up, more so than the current version (in the backround) and is lined up with the doors and boot suggesting it could be a reality. There is definitely room for a split headlight design. This really might be one funny looking 7er.

You should test that claim. Here's some instructions:

1. Attach a BMW badge to the middle of your forehead
2. Make your way to the nearest BMW dealership
3. See if anyone is willing to buy you

On that last shot, the side profile looks good. Even the rear can look nice when the camo comes off. But I am not much of a fan of what BMW has been doing to its front ends, and this looks quite weird too...
