Yup, you surely sound unbiased ?

Obvious to me that this is a in between step before headlight clusters can become as thin as drls.

Nah, the grille and headlights are going to merge as one on the Neue Klasse.

See the future here:

Someone here said it before and I agree, the upcoming 7er and 5er will be stop-gap designs. Not quite coherent in the line-up nor with a clear vision for the future. The future is the Neue Klaase which starts with the new 3er.

Nothing wrong with the stop gap designs btw, the new 7er looks damn good so far to me.

I had not realized that these two images shown with quite a difference in time, basically handle the same layout and concept

What I understood from the members who laughing at my post is two things :

1- Anyone in the world would prefer a BMW over a Bentley, Mercedes, or Audi is biased.!!

2- They do not believe in differing opinions and tastes!

This is strange !

If it is very clear that any car is better than the other then there will not be any car sold in the world , only the best in its class that will be sold ! and there will be no competitors in the same class ! and the market will be monopolized by several companies only.

I've noticed that a lot of members in this forum have brand bias and loyalty and can't even criticize the brand they prefer and they think their duty to defend it at any cost.

By the way some people think that BMW 7 series does not compete with Bentley, and at the same time they believe that the S-Class Maybach competes with Bentley, they forget that the S-Class Maybach is an S-class

Why did you delete your wonderful post ?
*My big fingers on my little phone

I think that the checklist at the beginning of development, in addition to being endless, should be full of goals to achieve, but these to a greater or lesser extent.

Elucubrating.....
A 7 series deserves to be proud of what it is and what it has achieved to the point of being an example to follow and not a follower wanting to be something that it is not and should not be.

Who are we looking at, to the Bentley? that is an exercise in another level of cost but exudes modern luxury, but that sells 20 times less than the S and the 7 itself
To the Ghost? that they manufacture themselves and compete with?
To the Audi? that continues to be a beautiful car, with a front more eye-catching than all the others, but that stalled in sales, who knows why.....?

I think that's the point, in second place take each of the opponents and evaluate it, but in the 7 series, as with the S class, the first thing is not to see anyone and do what they know how to do, the most remarkable thing is that they do not need to see too much to others but an introspection to improve the unbeatable, like the W222 vs W223.

As long as each one of this cars is faithful to his roots and manages to improve that with each generation, they will be icons each in their own way.

None of these vehicles are intimidated by the others at a traffic light, so from the check list I am left with how to sell more than my competitors without betraying my heritage.

And that I have not yet seen the official photos, there I will line up with @mac1

A normal 7er just doesn't compete with a Bentley. It competes with a Bentley in the same way a Skoda Octavia competes with a BMW 3er.
An S Maybach does, and the upcoming Alpina B7 will too. And even those are pushing it IMO. A Bentley in my opinion sits nicely between a high end 7er/S and a Rolls.

I doubt there will be grills in the future, the future is electric.
There will always be a grill, at least for those who have a grill that they are proud of and has a legacy and a future, they will always use it in one way or another, today it can be seen on the plastic face of the iX, in the three-pointed star on the EQS.

Very independent of its cooling or unnecessary function, for example the fact that the Teslas do not have a visible classic grille is in itself a characteristic grille for them

I mean, you get what I am saying right? Do you think the Vision Circular is ICE or something? Or the Neue Klasse?

They will give the impression of a grille and in reality there won't be. Just look at the pics, it's obvious.

Of course

i have opinion about mercedes w222 i think it is 100% luxurious and in the top of all luxurious cars ,, i don't know how some peoples try to compare the new W222 to F01 !! lets compare the F01 with w221 and i think the W221 better then E65 and F01

I prefer the Mercedes W221 over BMW E65, and for me this is normal, firstly because I am not biased, and secondly, because Mercedes W221 copied BMW E65 , which of course (BMW E65) was the most advanced car and the best luxury car in the world and Mercedes added touches of luxury and attention to details and it's newer.

And i prefer Mercedes W222 over BMW F01 which I consider the worst BMW 7 series ever

E38 and E65 They were the best of their time
W221 and W222 They were the best of their time

But the difference is that BMW are first and leading , and Mercedes followed and copied .

As for Mercedes W223, it is the worst S Class ever , and it was dead before it went to the market, even from the moment when its pictures leaked and only logical Mercedes fans know this well ;)

I'm not biased at all and I have the freedom to say my opinion without caring for any brand.

LMAO I honestly can't tell if you are serious or joking/trolling! (Hence the numerous laughs by me at your posts)

Some of you are really funny. BMW was the first to introduce the Infotainmentsystem idrive with two screens. And mercedes "copied" it. And the e65 was the most advanced sedan of its time.

Just as Mercedes was the first to install “tablets” and BMW “copied” them.

Some things Mercedes takes over (or are similar to) from BMW, some from Audi, ... and vice versa

It has always been that way.

These comparisons, who copies who and who was first, ... have become very annoying

Why on earth in this thread though??? We're reaching 7er climax here. No-one want anything else here, and we're past camo spy pics and renders too now!

Wow that 7 series and the XM next to those KIA compacts look monstrously big

I was just able to calmly see the X7 LCI on the big screen and I can say that it is quite an achievement over the already beautiful pre LCI, so I am even more anxious to see the new 7 in all its angles and splendor
