i3 (I01) 2022 BMW i3

The BMW i3 (I01) was the first mass-produced zero emissions vehicle by BMW, and part of its i sub-brand. Successor: BMW 3 Series (G28 BEV) (nameplate only). Production: 2013-2022.
EV market in China is way over US/EU in terms of development/products available. It is flooded with models...

.. to be fair, even the EU is leagues ahead of the USA, the US just doesn't appear to even be in the same league according to Electrek (which, granted, might only be worth dogshit in the tread of tyre).

More a case of confidence in data, like the one that shows for every iX3 BMW sells in China, Tesla sells ~12 Model Ys there.

Impressive, most impressive... what's the ratio of BMW's sold to Tesla's sold in China? I'm going to hazard a guess it's not 12:1 in Tesla's favour?

But the topic at hand was not how many total vehicles BMW sells in China vs Tesla, it was how i3 sales in China would compare to Model 3 sales there.

And IMO, sales of iX3 vs Model Y gives us some insight into that.
But, if in your opinion, how many total vehicles BMW sells vs Tesla in China correlates better to how i3 sales will compare to Model 3 sales, I am all ears to hear your rational. And even better, at the end of the year we can even see how well reality reflects that.

The big crash is coming closer and closer. Tesla can not meet the demad at the moment and this allows them to keep the prices rather high and leave space for the other manufacturers. The moment they flood the market with EVs and the supply becomes bigger than the demand, the real drama for the established manufacturers will come. With the new factories Tesla have decresed the production costs so much, that they can easily dump the price of their vehicle to meet the demand and supply. And this price level will be impossible for most (all German) of the manufacturers. Very few people would like to wait (instead of taking a car from the stock) and pay 25-30% more for a car of the same class but with worse technical specification.

I see some of this in that, especially when it comes to front bumper inspired/evolved.

Is there a Chinese Tesla 3? How are they in comparative price? If it's even, those comparative sales will be fun to follow.

This car was a sculpture. Still not aging.

The i3 turned out nice for being an alternative. Still thinking it’s coming too late for crucial markets for what it is. Just like the iX3.

Some of the exterior changes are an improvement on the pre-LCI 3-series, such as the rear diffuser and rear LED indicators.

I dont know but I might be the only person that thinks the previous I-drive screen and separate instruments look better than the new huge wrap around I-drive 8.0 screen which looks like an aftermarket attachment.

The HVAC controls have been deleted from the vents and must be now in the screen. Huge hole on top of the dash for the HUD.

I like the front light graphics, they make the headlights look slimmer than the current pre-LCI. Not sure about the front grill, shiny black inner panel cheapens it abit and its alot more angular and 3D.

Fast-motion development: from the BMW 3 Series E21 to the G20 LCI & i3

"While the first BMW 3 Series (E21) "only" reached a length of 4.35 meters and is therefore no four centimeters longer than today's 1 Series (F40), the current 3 Series (G20) extends to 4.71 meters - and the long version even comes to an impressive 4.87 meters, which at the time of the first 3-generation was still the format of a BMW 7-series (E23)."

No expense spared for the Chinese market.

A product that I did not think would be on my radar, but it turns out that it is very well rounded

I remember a test drive that I did to a Zastava 0 km for the fleet, ICE obviously and it also caught fire, just like that man in China will do, I took it off my list.

I imagine that although it must be a specific case, Zipse will send to review all the manufacturing of the factory in China, headache
