F1 2019 Formula 1 Season thread

in racing, money rules.

It's certainly helps level the playing field for those with more of it than they have talent. But as recently discussed, two of the sports biggest champions didn't come into the sport with money.

It's not even true for teams. Alonso's Renault championships didn't come with a team that had the biggest budget, far from it... and one of the biggest spenders (Toyota) hardly achieved anything.

If you or your team is fundamentally not very good, you won't win. Sure, Lance has a job in F1, but I suspect he'll finish his career one day with very little to show for it. Schuey and Hamilton come from far more humble beginnings and have 13 F1 WDC championships between them. Ol' 7-time Jimmie Johnson over in NASCAR grew up in a trailer park.

Money is the dark side of the motor sport, but it's not absolute.

Lewis is nut !
He ask for 55 million salary for year ( now he get 42 ).
Second requirement is 4 y...

He's arguably the finest driver to ever compete in F1 (with the exception of Jim Clark), if they want him which I think they do he will get 55m

Daimler CEO dismisses Mercedes F1 exit speculation

BERLIN (Reuters) - World champions Mercedes are not preparing to pull out of Formula One, Daimler Chief Executive Ola Kaellenius said on Wednesday.

Autocar and the racefans.net website reported earlier that the subject of whether Mercedes should leave the sport as a constructor would be discussed at the next board meeting of parent body Daimler.

"Not true," Kaellenius said on the sidelines of the German Auto Industry annual reception in Berlin when asked if Mercedes were planning to leave the Liberty Media-owned sport.

Nope daddy just bought a big chunk of Aston Martin and will rebrand his team Aston Martin so Lance will be in an Aston Martin F1 car. His pappy must really love him!!
That doesn't 100% mean that they will end up buying Mercedes, maybe they will rebrand Racing Point to Aston Martin.

Lance Stroll clearly has talent, otherwise anybo...
Surely, but if there have been some cases, where they arrived with the suitcase full just to crash in each and every race, it is vox populy that the other drivers did not want them close because they knew the end (some with tragic end)

Lance Stroll clearly has talent, otherwise anybody could drive an F1 car with enough money.
At first I was like: No way..but then I saw that he did make some accomplishments. Compared to Nikita Mazepin, son of Russian billionaire, Lance is much better.
If Mercedes leaves F1, then I think Stroll will buy MB and sell Racing Point to Mazepin. So probably two paid drivers on the grid.
