X5 [Renders] 2018 BMW X5 (G05)

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.

Clearly not going to be like that render.

Which is good, because it looks like a FL of the current X5.

There are still some camouflaged panels on the side of the car adding the necessary visual bulk to disguise its more sportier appearance.

The size of that grill is making me a bit nervous...I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that it's pulled off nicely when I see the rest of the vehicle. Regardless, the stance of this car is spot on. Very sporty.

This is why I think there’s still hope for the X7...X1,X2,X3,X4 and from what we are seeing the X5 are/will be good looking BMW X models. I’m optimistic about the X7 they can’t drop the ball.

That is quite a presence... Compared to this, the new GLE seems to be a joke. I really don't understand why Mercedes-Benz keeps on with the same shrunk, bloated silhouette. It is hardly something iconic, something to be proud of.

This new X5 is certainly a winner, no doubt about that.

You act as if you've seen the final product of either. There's definitely themes; the X5 is going to always have a sporty bent (it is the original SAV after all) and the GLE/ML is always going to be generally unoffensive and family oriented. I believe there are things to appreciate about both. That being said both of the outgoing generations of the X5 and GLE/ML were not the best work style-wise.
