2016 Toyota Avensis spied near the Nurburgring

A prototype for the 2016 Toyota Avensis has been spied undergoing testing near the Nürburgring.

Since development is still at an early stage, most of the bodywork carries over from the current model. However, the prototype has been equipped with a new front fascia and sweptback headlights.

Engine options remain a mystery but the model will likely be offered with a variety of petrol and diesel engines. We can also expect a hybrid variant but there's no word on specifications.

The next-generation Avensis is expected to be introduced in early 2016 so expect to learn more in the coming months.

Ah, the Toyota Anchovies. The first choice for dawdlers who want something bigger than a Nissan Micra.

Don't know why they have the Avensis as it is probably such a slow seller in Europe and other countries. They have the equivalent sized Camry in so many other countries why waste money on this car when they can sell the Camry with modified European style suspension settings in Europe, makes me wonder!
