a 991 GTS manual :D

Cayman is different no doubt.

I can see people liking the GT4 more for driving dynamics and 911 growing more like a GT cruiser. But let me tell you this, 911 is little more rewarding to drive. It makes you a better driver over time. Can't really say much more than what have been already said, but there are things things better experienced than said.

The cayman is smaller and nimbler. The 911 is better daily driver although cayman & 911 both had PASM. 911 is more relaxing, better room space inside and over all more refined for long cruises.

In my cayman I always felt little "fatigue' after long drives. In 911 ? I always try to make the journey longer to enjoy it more. Front end push under hard acceleration where cayman wanted to twist its chassis :D

Things 911 do better:
+ Comfort/Roomier/Refinement/Status/Power which is intentional by Porsche.

Things Cayman do better:
+ Initial turn in/Maneuverability/Smaller size/Sharper steering
- Mechanical noise inside the cabin is louder. Gears grinding was very noticeable inside the cabin. Limited seat space specially for tall people. Tight leg space. Squeaks and road noises are louder due to rear boot open to cabin.

Cayman can be very rewarding for people that don't mind refinement/status/heritage.

One small tiny note: Road presence. I always liked my cayman better standing still. On the move, 911 felt classier and better road hugging stance. Caymans felt tiny compared to humongous cars we see nowadays.

Came to say I stand by my choice made earlier.

Steady as a rock.

Wait, I thought you wussed out and got a granny paddle GTS... :D

lol yes my 991 is PDK :D I said earlier, couldn't dare the commitment with this highly demanding new GF :D

I have little confession .. I went with PDK with secret mission to uncover the "PDK clutch kick function" Preuninger mentioned about GT3. It works but I am still learning how to use it properly. So 3rd pedal in ur car might be unnecessary afterall :p

What exactly is that?

:)

something went under the radar for many :D

It works in my car but under certain circumstances .. PDK Sport+ and traction off.

it works exclusively with the sport steering with paddles not the mutlifunction steering.

Sayyaaf, so are you saying that your 991 GTS with PDK has the same "paddle neutral function" as the 991 GT3 PDK-S gearbox?

If so, I didn't know that.

With regards to the topic of this thread, I think the standard 991 GT3 is the natural "middle" car between the Cayman GT4 and 991 GT3 RS. It's the perfect balance for a sports car that can be used everyday on the streets, can provide a thrilling and visceral driving experience, can provide that 911 "snob factor" over a Cayman or Boxster, and can go at a phenomenal pace at the track. Of course, I'm biased.....hahaha, but I speak the truth from my point of view.

It's price is also in between.....

In Canada:
Cayman GT4: $96,500
911 GT3: $148,800
911 GT3 RS: $200,700

So you Porsche nerds. Have you had the chance to drive the GT4 yet and if yes. Any opinions?

Yep. I can disengage clutch by pulling both paddles. Don't know a good use of it though.
