My 1.4 has a soso 122hp, but for what I do with it going for the 140hp or 185hp version was overkill. Would have been fun over kill with 185hp.

Mazda don't appear to be interested in making performance versions of any of there new models, I always enjoyed driving the Mazdaspeed 6 a friend owned, the Mazdaspeed 3 was also a fun car.

Your has a turbocharger. I'm talking about N/A applications.

These 1.5 Skyactive engines seem very low state tune (only 55 and 66 kW) which is the same as rival 1.0 and 1.2 motors but they major on torque it seems and drivability as well as good economy

IMO, the best looking B-segment hatchback, and by far.

Yes I totally agree with you this car is the best looker in this class but for me the interior is its most positive part, it is outstanding for a car in this bracket. It looks like an Audi inside, even the quality look of the vents, switches and leather looks really really nice, much better than the Fiesta, Polo and new Corsa.

2015 Mazda2 gets virtual speculative MPS treatment

X-Tomi Design is back with a speculative render of the 2015 Mazda2 / Demio dressed up as a hotter MPS model.

About two months ago, independent artist X-Tomi Design from Hungary envisioned the all-new MX-5 Miata in the more appealing MPS guise and now he applied the same treatment onto the petite Mazda2. Sporting a slightly more aggressive body kit, the hot supermini gets multi-spoke black alloy wheels, a lowered sports suspension, dual exhaust setup and some glossy black body inserts.

It should be mentioned that Mazda's General Manager of Global Sales and Marketing did hint at a Mazda2 MPS as in an interview he said "for some markets a sportier version would work" and it's "definitely one of the considerations." Moreover, Mazda2 deputy program manager of vehicle development, Kengo Fukushima, expressed his desire to have a direct competitor for the Fiesta ST.

If green-lighted for production, don’t expect the Mazda2 MPS sooner than 2016.
