The MQB is modified to suit the larger model and named MLB-Evo.

That's as wrong as it gets. MQB is VAG's new platform for models with transversally mounted engines. MLB on the other hand is the platform Audi has been using for models with longitudinally mounted engines since 2007. I gotta admit that you had a good start in this thread (as the original Quattro Concept car is based on the MLB platform), just to ruin it all with this line.

Best regards,

Everyone appears to believe its the MLB-EVO.

The 2014 A4 will be based on the MLB architecture, which has been derived from VW’s much touted MQB platform.

This was what I believed was the case but you are obviously better informed than I.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
