2013 Ford Fusion

I don't know what to say. Ford is trying to KILL the establishment with this car. Inside and out, another winner. Wait until this and the new Escape catch on. I'm very impressed. Now we await the new Lincoln based on this chassis.

I actually started thinking about it, and think that this car would be by far my #1 choice in this segment. Hyundai showed that playing around with your cheap mid-size Sedans to give them blatantly shameless rip-off elements from higher end cars can work, and Ford has possibly just found the potion to take some share away from Hyundai/Kia with this Aston/British/Audi hybrid.

Having a refined eye, just like the Sonata trying to emulate a CLS can turn you off more-so toward it, given that you'll just see it as a very poorly flawed CLS interpretation (though nice in its own right), it can hurt it. However, at this price range, most people don't, and if you can give them an Aston front for $20K, they won't take the car seriously enough to analyze all these things (how it looks like a poor implementation of the real thing, thus making it kind of a downer) and will just find it more fun to have those styling elements for a budget price.

I have no more reservations about the Fusion. The front looks awesome in the IRL pictures. The rear is incredibly elegant. Great job Ford. Looks nicer than the Sonata, and equal with the Optima, or maybe even a little better.

So we've seen what the top-tier trim looks like on the inside, I"m curious to see what the S looks like.....

Front: Aston Martin
Rear: Lamborghini Avatendor

The interior is almost Scandinavian with its sober appearance and subtle Sony branding. In Europe it will certainly be the new Mondeo.

Actually, it IS the new Mondeo.

I like it, quite a lot, too!

That's surprising for a Ford :D

I would have to say Ford is really getting aggressive with their designs. So glad they left the bulky stage far behind.

Do we now have an idea about the next Mustangs design theme (Aston)?

Let's just say my already huge anticipation of that car is now even higher. I don't think I have a bar set higher for any car on the market right now. Even the S-Class I'm not too thrilled about, with the expected scribble-lines.

The next Mustang not only will be the first within Fords new "SERIOUS" stage, but it will be the first all-new iteration after Ford proved just how miraculously they can refine and tune what started as an ailing base, bandaid'ing the current Mustang into one of the most impressive cars on the market.... in all its various trim levels. I mean, the accessible GT beating the M3 in some performance tests speaks absolute volumes.

Now with an Aston ripoff in the works, along with the Mustang bloodline (hopefully) intact, and Ford having to really nail it considering it's gonna be the big 50th Anniversary of perhaps the automotive worlds biggest and most recognizable legend.... Let's just say I'm excited. :D

This is how European Mondeo looked two generations back.

The Fusion's interior looks way, way nicer and upscale than the Optima. I went to Kia's dealer two weeks ago, and for sure, the Optima looks great outside but the interior does look a bit old Saab and feels quite cheap. I couldn't believe they were asking 45k us dollars for that car, here in my country.

It's funny you should mention that because I was thinking what of the next Mustang and how are they going to adapt it. I have feeling we'll see a mix of the fastback Mustang plus this Evos-like design that'll then yield something like A-M V8's Vantage of the 1980's, which had a muscle car look to it.

Saw my first one IRL today..... it looks FAN-TAS-TIC.

I couldn't pay too much attention to the interior, as the owner got into the car and leave. Anyways, it looked very nice, too.

Yup, I haven't seen the interior in person either, but every time I see one of these on the road, it definitely makes my head turn. Can't remember any other Ford sedan having such an impact on me in terms of design. The wagon looks even sexier!

Are they already available in Europe? (as Mondeo? )
The one I saw here was a grey import from the USA. Ford Bolivia is offereing the Fiesta, Focus and then jumping to the Taurus, leaving a hole were the Fusion should be.....
