3 Series (F30) 2012 BMW 3er Touring (F31) Spyshots.

The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series consists of the BMW F30 (sedan version), BMW F31 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') and BMW F34 (fastback version, marketed as 'Gran Turismo') compact executive cars. The F30/F31/F34 generation was produced from October 2011 to 2019 and is often collectively referred to as the F30. For the sixth generation, the coupé and convertible models were spun off to create the new BMW 4 Series nameplate.
just like you were the only one who thought this was the finished interior, which one do you believe was the stupidest??

It is a 1er dash , These prototypes are mainly focusing on specific development programmes. Such as Engine , cooling or transmission reliability at this stage fit and finish is neither demanded nor important.
Cars that are previous development mules such as FEP spec or ex press vehicles are cannibalized for the early beginnings of development.

Not as closely related as the E36 and E46. The F30 will be an evolution rather than revolution of the E90.

What??

These are more similar to you..

I would also like to remind you of the early days of the X1. Remember that? How the prototype had used the 1er dash to which some members pointed out the X1 was using the 1er dash?
Pictures are available somewhere for evidence.

Remember how that one turned out? , It's normal , Mercedes-benz done it to by using the E-Klasse dash in the CLS.

"stupidest"? LOL! It's not really something that crossed my mind. However, the dashboard has no right or wrong answer. It's opinion. At no point did I say that was the finished interior in terms of fitment or finish. However, it's quite clear it doesn't have "two handbrakes"! That isn't opinion. Thats highly visible in the photo. That has to be post of the year. Definitely top three.

Looks wise the E36 and the E46 appear more closely related than they do to the E90. I think the photos you posted demonstrate that perfectly.

The X1 dashboard is virtually identical to the 1 Series. I don't know how you could spin it any other way.

Clearly yes. The E90 is a revolutionary design. It was the third and last sedan model to receive the new BMW design language. It wasn't as radical as the F01 was compared to E38 but almost as much as the E60 vs. E39.

^^^ It's not virtually identical. Not even close. The're some of the buttons that are the same (obviously, both are BMW), but for the rest the interior of the X1 and 1er are as different from eachother as 1er and 3er are.

The pleasure of knowing you are wrong is payment enough.

Hmmm, you already lost the bet. Too bad you were too chicken to participate.

Yes they are close. How you can say they are not even close is beyond me. Which is why it's pointless even arguing with you.

So I lost a bet that I didn't participate in it? How does that work? You see Klier, you have to actually be taking part in the bet to lose or win it.

I would never bet on something I wasn't sure about, hence my initial post was my opinion. You were the one who brought "bets" into it.

Judging by the latest pics in the F31 thread, the interior is indeed going to be basically the same as the 1 Series and X1, in my opinion. We'll see for sure in due course but I suspect Scott is trying to throw people off the scent, which is perfectly understandable. But I can see through it.

We've already seen the 3-Series sedan (F30), but here's the latest spy photos of the upcoming Touring variant (F31).
Recently snapped undergoing testing, the model is heavily camouflaged but will adopt the sedan's controversial front end. Out back, things are a little more traditional as there's a sloping roofline which blends into a rear tailgate with an integrated spoiler.
Overall, the model is slightly larger than its predecessor so expect an accommodating rear seat and added cargo capacity.
Engine options will carryover from the sedan, so there should be a turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol with outputs of 184 PS (135 kW / 181 bhp) and 245 PS (180 kW / 241 bhp) as well as a 3.0-liter inline-six with 320 PS (235 kW / 315 bhp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. On the diesel side, we can expect a 2.0-liter unit producing 143 PS (105 kW / 141 bhp) and 184 PS (135 kW / 181 bhp).
