Wow; that's really impressive for Mercedes. Porsche too, is ranking right next to the Japanese manufacturers which is surprising given that Volkswagen and Audi are near the bottom.

Not really, Porsche doesn't share much with VW outside of the Cayenne. Even there Porsche uses a lot of their own parts. Porsches have always been of much higher quality/reliability than anything from the VW empire.
Thats the way things are now......when the intergration is complete Porsche won't be so pure.

It's amazing to see how much MB used to suck and how good they've gotten. Mini and VW is horribly low.

Lol. BMW's doing nice in the sub-par lanes I see. 
Congrats to M-B, they're back on track where they belong! My 2 W212's have been outstanding in initial quality, I feel these are cars that will last and last for decades, and withstand lots of abuse, like the W126 days (taking electronics out of the equation, focusing on the car/hardware really).
Now, new motors are coming out, and they will probably start getting liberal with the gadgetry again, I hope that doesn't diminish the good work done. Rule #1 for M-B is build quality and engineering, I don't care that if in order to do that, they have to sacrifice some gadgets and more competitive motors, i.e BMW. Reading through the F10 Forums, some of common issues are enough to scare me away from at least a first year model of that car.

If BMW was doing good, JD Powers would be the second coming, the holy grail.

Thats the way it should be, Mercedes far ahead of BMW and Audi. Mercedes' were always of higher quality than either of them, especially Audi. Now Mercedes needs to be in the top 3. Ahead of Cadillac, another sore spot. Lexus can have first place as long as they keep pumping out dullard cars. Porsche? Well thats good company. Those should be the top 3 IMO. Mercedes needs to get there ASAP. First year of the Jaguar XF was 2009 and look at how far they have fallen. I wouldn't touch one for a daily driver.
