F1 2010 Abu Dhabi GP

And so ends Mark Webber's career. That race will go up on the hall of shame. He could have won the world title. Although it wasn't his day we wasn't making an attempt on Alonso at all! Alonso made a 3-4 errors during which Webber should have been on his tail and capitalized. FFS do it like Lewis, lose like a fighter by driving the car hard until tires go off or you collide with your foe. He will not see his contract extended for 2012. Besides that, Vettel has been on pole for the past races.

Not only was he on pole today, but he controlled the race. Kept Lewis at bay for the pit stop, overtook Kobayashi and critically got past Kubica. It's hilarious how Petrov drove his best race yet: Withstood the pressure of Alonso, not making any mistakes and not crashing. But overall, Abu Dhabi is a terrible circuit for overtaking. Even a Torro Rosso was a mission to get past.

Alonso got a bit what he deserved. He was the donkey of the race. During the entire season he's be waving his fists at backmarkers in fury over why they don't let him past. His peak was off course in Germany where he yelled "This is RIDICULOUS! over the radio in a pledge to the team, which catered to Alonso's wishes and told Massa to step aside. Karma people, karma.

What I look forward to is Kubica displacing Mark Webber at Red Bull for 2012. That guy is a champion in the making and he deserves a top car.

This is what happens when you think we have already won the championship and you let the one behind (Button) to overtake you in the start. Stupid Alonso and stupid Ferrari, they could have win and if they´ve lost is just because of their bad decissions, which has resulted in a worse pilot with a superior car winning the title.

True, he just had his off day at the worst possible time, even if he got pass Alonso, he won't have caught the Mclarens. His biggest error was that crash in South Korea.

Looking at the way he acted towards Petrov after the race, I dislike Alonso even more so, he is under no obligation to let others through on the track, and Alonso should just harden up.

This is a weird, surprising but strangely unsatisfying end to a season full of high tensions.

Btw, did anyone remember Schumacher nearly lost his head thanks to a Force India shaped blade gliding very close to his head?

Alonso is very self-centered in even back in Valencia we knew his true colour when we was ranting about the situation about Lewis and the Safety car. Behind him, Alonso had the choir of Demontezemlo, Domenicalli and the whole Ferrari team whining emotionally with him, and to top it off the Spanish media gave in as well with power headlines about Hamilton being a scandalous cheater.

But Ferrari fits in where is he. Just rewind back to 2008 when the team painted Glock as a guilty villain in handing the WDC to Lewis. By that being said, Petrov is the Glock of 2010 and articles about him in tomorrow's Spanish papers won't be pretty.

Either way, the Bulls have during the entire season been favourites to win. They basically have the best car and with the new points system, winning races eclipse being a steady point collector. Today Ferrari were simply playing a game of maths hoping that something will go wrong for the other title contenders but to their surprise, an unknown variable came into the frame -- yellow Renault Clios.

I think his year with Mclaren has shown enough of his true colors already, and the whole spy gate crap he drag the team into.

Even if he got pass Petrov, he still has Rosberg to pass. A surprising performance by Petrov, he knew it was his last chance and he made the most out of it. Plenty of people expected him to turn his Renault into little pieces but he held it, with no visible mistakes at all.

I still think the top three drivers this year and their teams made too many mistakes throughout the season, which wasn't all bad because it created such an exciting championship. Ferrari was being way too safe, they completely ignored the fact that Vettel was still in the title race, they probably didn't expect the Mclarens to be ahead of them, and finally those yellow Clios proved to have solid race pace.

It has always been red bulls title to loose seeing a they have had the best car all season.

I hope next year McLaren will have a better car because I want to see lewis winning the WDC again. I think he deserves to because no matter how good or bad his car is on the day, he always does a good and exciting drive.

I heard that KERS will make a comeback next year. In 2011, the fight will be in the hands of the mechanics. All top 6 drivers are capable of winning races but with the point system awarding 25 points to the winner, 1st place finishes are everything and more, and to get on pole you need the fastest car. Having lost a senior technical designer to Ferrari this year, Mclaren is technically the most disadvantaged team out of the top three.

Red Bull handed the championship to ferrari. And ferrari handed it right back. Lame strategy. I think they've really missed Jean Todt. I was in the 'anyone but alonso' camp. And no apologies for that

I really think you guys have no idea regarding Alonso. I'd put my money on that 90% of you are english, infected by those horrid tabloids you have there.

You'd be amazed by the lack of Alonso bashing there is in English press. More then anything, the press feeds on gossip about Button and Lewis. British press little interest in any athlete who doesn't live in the UK. They followed Christiano Ronaldso's life diligently when he was with Man U, but the minute he left to Spain, articles about him rock dropped.

Pf course UK press is respectable, but to all the UK press. I mean those tablids which fired the war inside McLAren back in 2007, and now you can see how far from that are currently Lewis and Alonso.

Anyway, I just don't understand why so much hate for Alonso.

As a driver he's great. It's just his demanding personality that put blemishes on his otherwise fine driving. Bad mouthing other drivers, teams or simply raising a fist at other drivers when don't cater to his needs it the core of most people's dissent.

Hoping Lewis would pull it out, but if not then Webber would be fine, if not then last choice was Vettel. I am just happy Alfonzo didn't get it

Podium was interesting 2008, 2009 and 2010 champs

What don't we have no idea about ? His driving capibilities or his personnality ?
