After these 4 races, I am very curious about the lack of pace from Williams and BMW. Both of them said very early on in 08 that they were focusing on the development of the 09 car. The Williams car looked much better developed than the BMW, with the double diffuser and the under nose air splitter, however the team is the slowest out of the diffuser 3, and even though it shows promising pace at practice, they just fall backwards during the race, and were overtaken by RB, Mclaren and Ferrari. I suspect their problem is to do with getting the tyres to work with the car.
BMW, on the other hand, is a disgrace. Ignore Heidfeld's lucky 2nd in Malaysia, their cars were way off the pace. The team has the most advanced computer, state of the art wind tunnel, plus a long development period for the 09 car. They were also the 1st to run a 09 spec car. However, the cars look aerodynamically under developed, and is extremely slow. Maybe they put too much emphasis on KERS during the development stage, and became confident in relying on their superior KERS system to make the difference in a race.
