Challenger 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8

The Dodge Challenger is a full-size muscle car that was introduced in early 2008 originally as a rival to the evolved fifth-generation Ford Mustang and the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
Who ever said Retro was dead.
This thing is a real throw back to the 70s... Looks really hot in black!

I`d really like to know why everyone seems to be b!tching about the interior.
American muscle cars never had CLK, 3-Series interior designs.

The Muscle cars are supposed to have that "stripped-down" look (thay had it in the late 60s and 70s). It`s not about fashion.

Here is an example of a 1968 Dodge Charger interior.

The new Challenger still has that stripped look, it`s just happens to be a little more ergonomic. (Btw that steering wheel is from the Charger SRT.)

^ :D Now, I really don't like the direction this metaphor's going in...!

That said, if that's the experience you're drawing parallels with then I'd have to say that's the last kind of long-term motoring relationship I'd want to have.

Hey, I never did say that I'd buy it. LOL What my example means is, that I'd love to drive it once and FLOOR it, but I wouldn't want to live with it everyday. :D

Exactly. I've said it before. This car isn't supposed to be a fashion statement and neither is it supposed to be a german car competitor. And at the same front, there is no German car on the road today that will offer what this car does.

I'm dead serious, You have to be into muscle cars to understand this. If you're not into muscle cars then this car doesn't make any sense.

Stripped?? You mean more like bare entry level car. I fail to see anything muscle-car like or stripped about it. It completely lack any sort of flair and personality.

Even the current Mustang looks better on the inside, and it's due replacement next year.

Well said Ramen! :t-cheers:

And Luwalira, I agree with you there! I believe Dodge could have thrown in a more personality. I do however believe you understand the principles of what I`m talking about though... ;)

I would like to add that even the Mustang has that stripped look to it.
What I mean by that is that it`s simply not decorated.

Naruto and Martinbo, you're both wrong.

This is the "only when I see you" type of sex.

Out of sight, out of mind, but when in the presence....get in and drive.

Yes, I do see what you mean. You are right...of course, I would still say that if this car was a chick it would a freaky chick. :D

Lol, I was thinking more along the lines of Rick James, Superfreak.."She's a very kinky girl. The kind you don't take home to mother....She's a super freak, super freak, She's Super Freaky!"

Rick James > Gucci Mane. LOL :D

While the rights to the first 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 brought $400K at Barrett-Jackson last weekend, we'd rather have the 43rd car built, which will go up on eBay's virtual auction block from February 12 to February 22. Chrysler is working the numerology angle, linking the 43rd Challenger to living legend Richard Petty and the #43 he made famous while driving Mopar stock cars to victory over his long racing career. Pre-qualified bidders will have the opportunity to take home the 43rd Challenger built, which will be the only one finished in B5 Blue in a nod to the Petty Blue (or Corporate Blue) finish that adorned The King's racers. Carbon fiber-look hood stripes, a chrome fuel filler lid and a numbered dash plaque finish this particular one-off appearance package, and the auction winner also gets a VIP Package to this May's Dodge Challenger 500 NASCAR race at Darlington. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Petty family's Victory Junction Gang Camp, so it's for a good cause. Wanna bid? Go here to get pre-registered.

Despite what i have said about it in the past, the patriotic blue color makes it one very attractive car. Still not keen on the generic interior though.
