Challenger 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8

The Dodge Challenger is a full-size muscle car that was introduced in early 2008 originally as a rival to the evolved fifth-generation Ford Mustang and the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
He said I'm tired of seeing the same color! Poof!

Which year does Chrysler think we are living in? The interior of the SRT8 is straight from the worst of the worst 1980s car interior design. It looks dated already, same goes for the rear end design.

This will probably go down like the Thunderbird redux, rack up some nostalgia sales the first few years and down the drain after that.

Oh I doubt that. This car is going to be a huge hit and sustain like the Mustang once the cheaper, lesser-engined models arrive. The Thunderbird was a 2-seater with virtually no real performance gain over any number of V6 cars and really impractical. This car will sell on looks alone for the first few years.

I'm not crazy about this car but I have to say that it looks pretty nice in silver. I bet that the American tuners are dying to get their hands on it. It's a shame that the interior lacks any form of flair or personality.

I really don't like it. Nothing more than automotive sentimentalism. It has no meaningful context in the modern world beyond mere nostalgia. Price-wise in the US, how does this compare to a 335i Coupe?

Can't say that you're wrong, because I too feel that it doesn't bring anything new to the table in forms of power/performance or design.

Price-wise it's a little cheaper than the 335i

335i: $40 000
Challanger: $38 000

Style or substance? You make the choice.

Whoever decided to botch the interior by reaching into the corporate parts bin needs to be shot, or at least given a really nasty Dutch rub.

I thought this car had promise until I saw those gauges, and that four-spoke steering wheel that looks for all the world like it was ripped out of a PT Cruiser or Sebring. What the hell?

Now it feels as though this car is another shitty product of American bean-counting underneath a classic-car costume. The $250 or whatever they saved per unit by using their standard-issue wheel & gagues absolutely killed the spirit of this car.

They could have at least used a three spoke wheel - ANY three spoke wheel.

I see the future - "SRT8 Interior upgrade: $1,200." Stupid. Just stupid.

The Challenger looks stealthy in all black. I would throw a pair of iridescent strips on it, and voila--my Knight Rider.

I love the outside, but the interior just doesn't suit this car at all. It looks too tame and boring. It looks like it belongs in some tame family sedan and not in an evil performance machine. :eusa_doh:

I was really stoked when I saw the concepts interior. I really was, the pistol grip shifter and all that. I was stoken when I heard there would be a 6-speed on the SRT-8 6.1L engine. I was stoked when I heard they would try to keep the butterfly valves on the hood functional.

I'm let down. Give me a white STi with gold wheels over this any day of the week.

Company for the new Mustang & the next Camaro, redefines the word "hotness" :usa7uh:...!

Yes precisely. The kind of sex that you wake up the morning after having with a blinding headache and an "Oh my gosh what was I thinking?!?" realisation.

No, I believe that this is more like the wild and freaky sex to where you wake up the next morning and say "Damn...that sh!t was crazy" and then you run from the girl because she is a bit much to handle for on a day to day basis and is quite high maintenance...:D

^ :D Now, I really don't like the direction this metaphor's going in...!

That said, if that's the experience you're drawing parallels with then I'd have to say that's the last kind of long-term motoring relationship I'd want to have.
